Running my Starmate in 2 different vehicles I have it so I can easily move it from one to the other.

I have been doing this for months with no problems until lately.

Just the other day the fuse in the power line blew. I went to Radio Shack to get a fuse.

Replaced fuse and tried to power it up and it didn't seem to want to come back on. After holding the on/off button for a while it came on.

Now here is my problem, now it seems to suddenly for no reason the whole unit turns off and then comes back on by itself. This never happened before. I have read of it happening to others on other websites and it seemed that for some eventually the unit never came back on.

Anyone have this happen?

Any cures, warranty, replace unit and have sirius change which receiver gets service, what?

Thanks

I have the cheapy Sirius unit that does the on/off thing. I already tossed one of these into the drink during an episode of Intermittent Explosive Disorder when it cut out on a Raw Dog airing of Kinison. I will say that the connectors are pretty effing cheesy and are prolly the source of your woes.

Yea, I already bought a different model to replace it just haven't switch the authorization yet.

Thought I would ask before I tossed. It can piss you off. Glad I am riding the bike and my wife is dealing with it right now :D

Thanks

Kinison

Man there is one comedian I really miss.

I will never forget his Necrophilia skit, hillarious.

Yup, that's the one I have. This one's not so bad. I've even run it in down pours and it still works. The power plug gets a little jiggy from time to time. Little 'lectric grease works for a while...

I use the cheaper-the-better method of purchasing the Sirius radios at this point. At $35 or $39 a clip they are fairly disposable. Buy an extra, keep it handy. Not only that but you will have a spare antenna, power cord, and mount. I use the X-ACT. The windshield mount with the suction cups that comes with it sits nicely on a Techmount stemstand.

Yea I am starting to see the logic to this. Especially since I don't really use any of the features of even the replay. I mainly listen to one channel and my wife another so don't need a lot of presets.

I bought the starmate to mount on my fjr which I never did.
