I got a quote from Foremost through AARP for $422 per year. That is 100/300/50

$500 Deductable. I live in So. Oregon. I didnt think that was too bad. My Vstrom1000 was about $390 with Farmers. Does pay to shop around and it does vary quite a bit by zip code. When my 06 shows up I will try the 1298cc to see if there is a differance. There may be a cutoff starting at 1300cc. Thanks for the tip. The agent asked me for the displacement and I just said 1300 not knowing the exact number. I would have thought their computers would already have that info preprogramed. Bob

OK from previous post we know how wildly it will vary by state and then by individual.

Here is a summation of the quotes I got on a 1300A 06 from the various companies here listed from best to worst with (mostly) the same coverage: 250/500/100 liability, 250 comp & collision, and 20/40 unisured motorist. Foremost gmac and bikeline would only do 100/300/50 liability.

Per Year

State Farm: $651

GMAC; $670

Sentry/Dairyland: $684

Foremost: $865

Progressive: $891

Geico: $1,116.

Bikeline: $1250.

Sentry/Dairyland dropped to $621 w/ a safety course and Geico dropped 10%

Apples to apples Here is where I fall for these companies. I did not include Allstate or other companies that would require me to move a car to them so the above is with bike coverage only (except State Farm they already have all my stuff for the last 20 years)

These are with the 1298 cc as per TWN.

Hope it helps someone.

Just picked up my fjr on Monday and live in Michigan. Unisured motorist fund tacks on to the bill. Ended up with American Modern @$496.00.

Toll Free number is (800) 759-9008

This includes high liabilty limits,$250.00ded ,etc
