I found the below site where they make heavy duty stators for various motorcycles. Of course the FJR isn't listed but it might be worth looking into whether or not they can modify it. I know the 2006 and up puts out a little more than previous years but I still don't know if it will be enough for me.

My list of farkles that will be installed next month will include:

J&M CB 2003 intercom/CB

Phillips PHID

Moto Lights

Garmin 2820

Passport X50

Scorpio alarm

Heated grips

Heated vest

Silverstreak 250 watt linear amp for the CB

The major concerns and currnet draw will come from the linear amp and the potential of 3 sets of lights running. I know I can't run the heated vest and everything at the same time. The linear amp might draw as much as 25 amps on peak output. I saw a post about the output of the 2006 FJR before but can't find it.

Here is the link. The cool part is they offer a lifetime warranty also.

Just wondering why you would ever run the Moto man light kit in conjunction with the PHID's?

And what does that linear amp do-da do for your CB? Range?

The Moto lights function to add visibility to the bike. They are too low to light the highway much. Moto lights are better positioned for fog conditions and they look cool as ****. I would not necessarily run them together with the PHID's. The PHID's are for extreme driving when light is needed on the highway. The linear amp should give me a range in excess of 50 miles. A standard cb is limited to 5 watts output by FCC regulations. The J&M actually puts out 4 watts and is limited to 2 to 5 miles maybe at best.

Nope, stator already beefed up for electric shift mechanism. 05 and earlier had about 100 less watts(?) power than '06 and up. I believe the '06 and newer are rated at 590watts. Just know your drain and meter accordingly is all I can think of.

If 590 isn't enough...you really should talk to Doc Brown and have him build you a flux capacitor with 1.21 jigawatts. Make the sucker nuclear. Doubtful you're going to find somebody to wire a higher output alternator than there currently is.

250 watt linear amp? Maybe you need to install a 1/2 wave whip to go with it. Whatever.

Hello my friend...you'll be just another Village *****'s ***** if you install the illegal 11M Band CB amp...you'll still have no ears to hear others and a big mouth to interfere with normal CB chatter...you'll become an alligator as was mentioned...stick to the bike Farkles and leave the crap CB amp off the bike...or buckle up like an adult and get a legal Amateur Radio ticket (no CW/Morse Code test required now) so you can run real power on the 10M and below bands, and install a quality SSB/AM/FM radio...you'll be able to communicate around the world, or just to local's via repeaters on static-free FM, instead to only the locals on CB AM...I know, I've done it and you're welcome to Amateur Radio if you do pursue it...please PM me anytime if you'd like more help.

I'm actually going to install a Predator 10K antenna. The linear is just to assist it in getting out where it may normally be weak. 250 watts is the peak rating but on low it probably won't average 50 watts. Because of the lack of ground plane on motorcycles it shouldn't cause any more interferace than a base. Well if I have to use it to call for help I know I'll be heard farther. It won't be used for idol chat much.

why bother? it's CB. how far away do you want to be from that guy that's always putting on his red painties as he gets ready to go to bed?

Why do we bother with half the farkles we do? One, because it can be done. Two, because it's probably never been done. Three, because it does have a practical purpose. Four, because I've never seen a Predator 10K on a motorcycle before. Five, because it would be a "Bitchin" CB. Six, because I like challenges. Seven, Because I might want to talk to the locals when I'm traveling and not just my riding buddies. Eight, do I really need to go on?...................................

:D Besides....the guys in the red panties that I ride with are usually on Goldwings. It doesn't take long to get miles ahead of them when I feel like having fun. :D

Nope, you've been clear. I'll suggest then you'll be be blazing a path as the first pioneer to get more than 590 watts and can report back your efforts for others.

"...Nine, because I like to babble about daydreams instead of doing something useful and explaining how I did it. Ten, because I want to everyone to see how much money I can blow on farkles for my bike. Eleven, because I bought the bike in the first place to show everybody what a stud I am. Twelve, because I don't really have any riding buddies to talk to, so I'm desperate to force someone else to talk to me on my "bitchin" CB. Thirteen, because I really don't ride the bike that much; I mainly invite other shmucks to my house to see my "bitchin" bike. Fourteen, because I stay awake at night worrying whether other guys think I'm "bitchin" enough. Fifteen, do I really need to go on?........................ ............................. ....................... ............................ ........................... ...................... (ooooh, that's really bitchin!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) .......................
