How about young at heart. I just turned turned 60 and weigh 170#. Very little fat and very active. I can hold my own in most sports with much younger. Bring it on!

Gary

I am not overweight, I am under tall.

By that rule, I should be 10 feet tall and bulletproof.

:****:

OK, how old are you? Why is 40 the old man/woman cut off? What do your "buddies" ride? How old are your buddies?

In a few years, I'm sure they'll be thinking about being old.

I don't think FJR's are for old Fat people, I think old fat people are for FJR's. :D

Let's let Fairlaner ride with your buds, then we'll see what they think of FJR's and "old fat" people. ;)

Not sure if you are implying that over 40 is "old", but at 45 I feel like a pup around most of these old farts that make it to the Rallies I've attended!

As for fat, my oldest brother (I'm youngest of 4 boys) asked me at Christmas dinner, "They rest of us have got bellies goin', when are you getting one?"

I laughed and told him "Not anytime soon, in fact I've vowed to have 'six-pack abs' by the start of waterski season!'

Based on the quality of the people I've met on this forum and at FJR Rallies, I'd say the FJR is the chosen ride of guys (and gals) that really know how to ride and have the time and resources to do a lot of it. If I knew what I know now, I would have picked up an FJR 5 years earlier!

I'll be 50 in less than 2 months. 5'10, 230 lbs. Bench press 410 lbs. for three reps. 34x32 Levis. Getcha some, Sonny!

If you look at the poll results the only clear thing is that most of the people that own FJRs, participate in this forum, and that are willing to answer this poll question are over 40 years old. Is that the definition of old? I remember (vaguely) when I hit 40 and everyone was saying that "you're over the hill now". Maybe they should have said: :You're old (and wise) enough to get an FJR now". Except there was no such thing as an FJR back then. I guess I could have bought my VFR then (brand new). ;)

The weight thing seems to not have any particular correlation to FJR ownership, except to show that we are (primarily) North Americans, who tend to be somewhat overweight. :glare:

I always feel better about myself Ii I just watch the first few weeks of "Biggest Loser"

You just have to quit watching about 3-4 weeks in!

Here is another one that finds your polls options interesting. I'm turning 41 this summer....I think of myself as midlife (as in crisis) rather then old. But then all I need is to talk to nieces and nephews and my own kids and I'm clearly ancient....but I think you must be 21 to call everybody over 40 old!!!

5'11", 180#, 32" waist and 18-19% body fat (18% when playing soccer every other day as in currently). I'll try to keep it that way to stay out of the diabetes zone as long as I can. I was 30# heavier 10 to 5 years ago until I had a few lipid panel wake-up calls at the doctor.

It will be interesting to see what all the weight lifters and other young people answering this post have to say when they actually reach old age. Remember I am seventy and although I cannot brag about my physical abilities I could have thirty years ago when I was forty.

Before you guys attack me, remember that I will probably not be around in thirty years.

All in fun, right? I remember a few years ago when my friend Karl and I used to defend our youth with the older guys at work by saying,"yeah, but it is sure nice being under 25."
