2x times now, the speedo needle has failed to sweep at key on but would indicate once underway. This morning, the tach failed to sweep and failed to work once running until after 40 or so seconds. Always first thing in the morning, ambient temp ~55 to 60 deg F. 2006 early 'A' model with 9250 on the odo.

Anyone else having issues with instrument cluster? Any idea to the cause? TIA.
Yo, Mr. C ...

Are you affected by the 17 mpg instant reading? And have you done the warranty replacement of the cluster?

Just a thought - that might fix the problem. If you have a later model that is not affected by the technical service bulletin, you seem to have a warranty repair.

I have not experienced the behaviour you describe with my 06.

Let us know what happens

Hal
It isn't related to the 17 mpg problem as I had one of those, but never had a problem with sticking needles.

I get the sticking speedo thing about one time out of every 10 starts or so. Original cluster (with 17MPG bug), no mods. Planning to check into getting the cluster changed out, just not sure when.

What about stickey needles on an 05? it drives me nuts. I going to call the delaer some day. Both the tach and speedo have the problem. Won't WD40 hurt the electronics?

Won't WD40 hurt the electronics?
I think that was a joke. My dad, who is normally mechanically inclined, tried WD-40 on his squeeky VCR - not a pretty sight.
