I took the throttle assembly apart at the handlebar to lube it with light weight oil. Now it doesnt return easily and Im thinking the grip heater wire is the cause. Any tips?

Thanks Russ

Quite often the problem with an apparently sticky throttle is a function of insufficient slack in the cables.

Is it worse with the bars turned one way vs the other?

Have you done a throttle spring "unwind" to reduce spring force?

Did you adjust throttle free-play when you had it apart?

Are you sure that the throttle cable routing is correct?

OE heated grips?

Yup, it's a bitch sometimes to get the RH heated grip wiring properly routed in the throttle assembly. Carefully take it apart again paying close attention to the original bends in the wiring. Rinse and repeat.

Good luck!

Yep. I ruined a perfectly good heated grip on my 2013... sigh.
