Yep............. December 5th, and I'm about to go out for an afternoon ride with a buddy. I've still been riding to work everyday!!!! :yahoo: I have not seen a flake of snow on the ground yet. This is very unusual for this time of year in this area, usually we see at least a light dusting a few times by now. I can't believe it!! However............as I type this, the Weather Network is forecasting snow tonight................... :angry: :angry: I can NEVER remember riding this late into the year.

I know....................I should move further south.

Still riding here too. There are rainy days but it is seldom too cold to ride. Maybe a few weeks scattered through the winter months you are uncomfortable without a lot of layering.

Well, I think I may be done for the season. I made it through Thursday morning. Couldn't quite make it home after work and had to park the bike at my in-laws condo that is a little closer to home. It was a little treacherous getting there with ice on the road, but the packed snow on the hilly gravel roads to my house didn't look like a good option at all. Friday was the first day in months I didn't ride the bike to work.

I had to zip up the fleece jacket I wear under my mesh gear yesterday going in to work, < 50 degrees!!!! BRR-R-R-R-R!!!

It's the beginning of the end for the New England riding season. We have been blessed with a run of good weather into December. Depending on what atrocities they spread on the roads last night, our riding season may not be done yet. Typically we get one or two snow storms where so much snow accumulates that it looks to be a certainty of a white Christmas then we get a big warm-up for several days.

Being that I live only a dozen miles from Alan, I am in the same boat.

I took out the Triumph Trophy for a short ride yesterday (under the premise of allowing it to ingest some SeaFoam gas stabilizer) at around noon time, so I guess that counts as a December 5th ride. When the first few flakes fell I got that horrible sinking feeling and headed for the barn.

I've been out and about this morning, and it appears that the local DPW must have been chomping at the bit for the first little snow of the year to spend their gargantuan budget, and have plowed it all up and spread melting agents!

Ugh!! Total despair... :cray:

I was able to sneak a ride in on the 2nd and have to admitt that is unusual but I do recall riding, maybe 6 or 7 years back, on Dec 16th and only putting the bike away because I was going to be away for Christmas and couldn't imagine riding it after that.

Oil, and pumpkin fluid are changed and stabilizer is in the gas, but who knows. might get lucky and get one more.

Unfortunately, probably won't be doing any riding here. We flew down to Cabo San Lucas with my wife, almost 2 year old son and her parents and are staying at the Grand Mayan Resort. We'll see about maybe taking advantage of some opportunity to do some off road riding here or something.

I am always on my own moto when I am in Mexico, so I have never checked out off road rental bikes in either Cabo San Lucas or San Jose del Cabo. I am close friends with Senor Ruben Tenorio, Presidente of the Moto-Clubs of Mexico Group.

If you are truly interested, I could send an e-mail to mi Amigo Ruben in order to find out if you can score a rental trails bike.

Just a footnote: It'll be so warm that you may be tempted to ride without your helmet. If you are a ****** you will be cited, but if you are a local home boy you will not. Back in 1985 I was riding my Shovelhead Harley down by the docks and was stopped for riding without my helmet. I had to follow La Policia back to Estacion. I then paid my 200 pesos fine, $20 USD.

We are all having weird weather. It snowed in Houston this past Friday. We definatly have year round riding here but it in the summer it is to hot to ride. Hard to believe as that sounds try putting a helmet and gloves on when it's 98* and 80% humidity and the road temperature is 125*. We do it anyway. I certainly am not going to miss a day of riding.
