Just minus 20F this a.m. A small wind put wind chills at about -35F. Definitely wool socks and long johns weather. Supposed to go to minus 31 tonight. When it goes below minus 30F, we concede it's cold out. Below minus 40F and it is considered "damned cold." Minus 50F and below, it's "colder 'n a well digger's ***" (whatever that means), "cold enough to freeze the balls off a brass monkey" (whatever that means), or "colder than a witch's ***" (which I suppose must be real cold). Dogs get stuck to fire hydrants in this weather. I do know that it will freeze your nostrils shut. Take a piss outdoors and you know where the descriptive "tinkling" comes from. If your vehicles have ANY weakness, you will know what it is shortly. BUT... it does keep the riff raff and ******* out. And it heralds the beginning of "ice fishing season!"
