Anyone have the stock plates they replaced with the block off plates that they would like to get rid of ?

@Dunk43 - If you are looking to do the block-off as cheaply as possible I would suggest that you just remove the hoses in the PAIR system and buy some caps to fit over the nipples on the stock PAIR fittings. If you want to go all the way and put some blank-off plates on there, it would be pretty hard to beat the ones made and sold by forum member 08FJR4ME (aka WynPro).

I'll admit, the curiosity bug has hit me too. Looks like you are even willing to pay for them. Whats up?

Thought I would try to make a permanent seal on them by welding or tapping them and installing a bolt or something like this.

I don't want to experiment with mine in case it doesn't work

I would pay shipping if someone has some that are just lying around and would never be used for anything.

I did it on a Road Star I had years ago and it worked but this system is totally different.

Just make a gasket to go under them and block the reed valve
That's a good idea. You could just get a piece of sheet metal from home depot and cut the outlines of the stock ones, drill the holes for the screws, and you'd be totally sealed off when you reinstall them sandwiched in there.

You might even want to just remove the reeds entirely. I left mine in with the blank off plates as they had the gasket on them.

Spend the money on the prettiest farkle no one will ever see. Well, except you when you lift the tank to work under there.

Nope, why do you ask?
It may be to much bling for him Jason. What he doesn't realise is that it gets rid of all that crap that gets in the way when triying to service the engine. Just my thoughts on the Harley comment. Too each there own, there is always a better mousetrap waiting to be built.

putting 2 and 2 together,

Dave

Aha, gotcha. FWIW, I'd already done one throttle body sync with all the crap in there and it was a right pain. Since I was going to check valve clearances and have the cover off, I figured it was a perfect time to clean things up for future syncs and install the cover plates. Pretty much a no brainer at that point.
