I'm in VA but have the list - called Mike's cell and left my number for him to call if I can help.

Mike just called. He ran over some tractor trailer rubber and has a flat and bent rims. I thought he was in CA, but he's in N Utah - no one on the list there. He called a buddy who gave him the number to a dealer about 15 miles away and he's going to give them a try.

I'm in SW Colorado. Where exactly is he? I do have a trailer and truck and would go upstate Utah to help. JB

This is what I like about people motorcycling and the fjr board, people helping people in time of need.

This is one of many things that just happen on the road when taveling, not knowing what lies ahead

.

Breaking down or having a problem of this nature can be very annoying and stressful.

For me I carry the motow insurance from ama for things such as what has happened and in case of an accident. Only 29.95 per year

At least it will get me a tow to the shop and pay for one night motel. At leas it is a little comfort.

The support network that the fjr community helping each other deserves a big round of applause.

Now that being said where do I sign up to offer support. :clapping: weekend rider

Thanks for the support and especially to gasman that was quite an offer. right now I am at hotel in Brigham Utah and am trying to decide between waiting a couple days for local Yami dealer to get new wheels or rent U haul.

So has anyone here used a uhaul to carry bike? Is there any ty down hooks in them.

Thinking it might be good to get it home and get wheels from gary at University.

Oh and by the way I am fine I hit a road gator off a 18 wheeler. I was getting ready to exit and had gotten behind a van. All of a suden it was right ther I braced and smack!!

Bike stayed steady but I could tell things were spongy by the time I got pulled over both tires were flat.

Both wheels bent well beyond repair. No other damage and no road rash for me!! :D :clapping:

Do you have the yes warranty, it will pay you some money for the trip interuption, sorry to hear that you had an issue, but feel better knowing people close by are willing and able to assist if need be.

good luck wth the repair and getting back on the road.

I think they have a bike specific trailer with a small extention in the front, it is an open trailer pull behind your truck, etc.

some of the bigger trucks should have tie down rings on the walls i think

Having owned british bikes for years, I'm used to the U-haul trailers. Yes, they have motorcycle specific ones that have a drop-down gate for easy driving onto the trailer, and yes, they have tie down loops on the front. Being anal, I use a second pair of tie downs on the back, and just go to the frame of the trailer. Overkill, but I like using redundant systems.

Sorry to hear about the slow down--good luck on the trip/fix! And I'm impressed there was no sliding or road rash! WTG!

First off, congrat on your Cal24 finish. Next, sorry for your trouble. Wish we were closer I would come get you, or send you my wheels.. You ride home. I will PM you my phone #, I am home in the mornings if I can be of some help. Smitty

Thanks Smitty. If I bring it home by u haul and order wheels from Gary McCoy I may have to bring them to you for mount and balance.

One of the other members bent a wheel in Colorado and Gary had it shipped overnight to him from the Yamaha warehouse (No one will have them in stock).

You may want to check that out.

Be happy to install the bearings, rotors and mount and balance the rubber. Good luck...Give me a call if I can do anything. Smitty
