This is an off the wall post and you guys will think I'm crazy but here goes. When at WFO5, Saturday night late, I heard this strange high pitch exellerating sound, (No I wasn't under the influence and no alien's were not in the area that I know of), but on the other side of the veranda and casino from where the FJR's were parked, someone on some type sportbike had this sound emitting from the exhaust that sounded like an F1 Farrari leaving the area. Believe you me it was like music from heaven. This bike had a high pitch whirrling sound that was awesome. My question is, does anyone know if there is a muffler one can put on the FJR that might emmit a sound like that? Or is this the result of a sportbike revved to very high rpm's with a special exhaust? I have yet to hear another sound such as this emmiting from a bike. Can someone explain? Ok, I can take it....I just can't forget this sound. PM. <><

Yes you're absolutely right. We think you're crazy.

And speaking of crazy, I took one look at that MV Agusta F4 and now I want one. Thanks Highlander!

Just wait till you sit on one.. I think it spoke to me.............was calling my name anyway! :D

Highlander my friend, I think you are real close. With the accoustics of the covering and walls at the hotel, F4 could have been it, possible as slapnpop mentioned with turbo. Try this clip.

The sound exiting the second tunnel when letting off on the throttle is real close to the sound. And, oh yea, turn it up at the end! PM. <>< :yahoo:

The best bike sound I've heard is, and you won't believe me, is a 1979 Kawasaki KZ1300 runing through headers only. Snarly, high pitched at the top of the rev band, yet surly and throaty down low. Wonderful sound; the only reason I keep that old relic is just for the sound.. The next best sound in the world? Any unlimited Air Racer at the Reno Air Races..

You were listening to a 2005 R1 with LeoVince SBK Titanium Racing Ovals. Seriously, that's what it was.

Here is a link to the MP3 sound clip of it on a dyno run.

You will definitely want to crank your speakers up for this one. Notice toward the very end of the run, you will hear the "moaning"-like sound that you are referring to in your description.

Very good Warchild. This trumpet/moaning is the sound. So it must be a combination of the cans and the high revs that can also make this possible. I'm sure the Titanium ovals helps in this area. And also sure running these mufflers on their FJR would sound cool as well. Thanks for the info. PM. <>< ;)
