Stopped by the local Honda/Kawasaki Dealership to buy a part and saw a new Gixxer 1000 on the showroom floor. I asked the young kid salesman if they had added Suzuki to their lineup and he said no, they just had this one brand new one for sale. Why? He didn't know why. I then asked an older salesman who told me that it belonged to the sales manager and had only 3 miles on it but they were selling it as a used bike. How much? $11,900. "That's more than the list price for a new one" I said as I turned and walked away. WTF is that all about?

Sounds like the Sales Manager is using the dealership as his own personal buy and sell used bikes for his own profit store :D :p

Looking at the business card in my wallet from Jenni at Brickyard Motorsports for the 1000th time, I see that I can get a 2006 GSXR1000 OTD for 11,103.50. That includes Michigan's 6% sales tax, plates and all paperwork fees.

The GSXR750 same deal, except 10,255.50 . And would be under my butt right now if only it was identical looking to the 600. Its always something... I just might survive another model year yet ! :D

I thought that the 750 and 600 looked pretty close?

The 750 and 600 is identical except for the motor and colors of decals and certain parts.

Only someone who really knew the bikes could tell them apart.

The 1000 if you compare all the dimensions is almost the same as the 750...

Woodstock,

They do look pretty close. The 750 got stuck with black wheels and forks which I've never liked on a bike. It's also predominately blue on the front with white highlights.

The 600 got the blue wheels ( ehh -but better than black ) and the gold anodized forks which I think is hot looking. Predominately white on the front with blue highlights. I find the 600 more asthetically pleasing which is very important once I get off and go into trance mode.

I want the extra 20 horses the 750 provides with the 600's looks. It would really chafe me if they reversed them for next year and I bought now so I'm waiting a bit.
