Installing FZ1 mirrors and horns this AM and can not remove the top bolt(by the mirror) on the C panel. Just turns and I can hear a knocking noise like the fastener is not holding. Any Ideas.........Did this panel get removed for a 600 mile service or when the dealer installed the heated grips? Way too early to be this frustrated, Barry

Sounds like maybe it got overtorqued and the internal fairing tab broke. Try removing the other C panel bolts and see if you can remove the panel even with it in place. Maybe get some needle nosed pliers and grab the bolt head and see if you can extract it.

Was this panel removed for the 600 service or for heated grip install?

Where did they install the grip controller, and how did they wire it? If they went to the battery terminals, then yes, they had to take the C panel off. Not sure what is included in the 600 miles service since mine was 35K miles ago...

That bolt is a false one if I remember correctly...it's just held on with a nut behind it but it really doesnt serve a purpose IIRC.
