Michelle (my wife) does not enjoy the things I enjoy while camping. I enjoy the simple things like hiking, mending camp, napping, and watching the wind blow. However she does not enjoy these things as much. This concerns me as she has agreed to go camping with me from the bike. So far I have came up with playing UNO, cards, and puzzles to keep her from getting bored. Does anyone else have ideas?

As she camps more I am sure she will enjoy relaxing a bit more. However, right now life moves at 100mph for us, and she can't turn off the hurry up and go mindset as quick as I can.

Thank you,

Prozac? 'ludes? Old fashioned JackD? Naw, that last one's a bad idea...too much chance of bad effects on the driver.

Sounds like hiking is not on your agenda...skeet shooting would be fun. Does she read much? My wife and daughter are going crazy reading stuff from a guy named Garth Nix.

Portable DVD player and a stack of girl movies.

Binoculars and a bird identification book.

Yarn and knitting needles.

Paperback novels.

Hand-held Nintendo.

Nail polish.

Sketchbook.

Halucinogenic drugs.

Give up and let her figure it out. Only The Shadow knows what evils lurk in the female mind.

Board games to relieve boredom.

Map of the stars and a bottle of wine with snacks for a nighttime chat lying on top of a picnic table.

Chatting about all those things you don't like to chat about but she thinks are important.

Thanking her for coming along.

A razor, whipped cream, a cherry, and a tent.........

:laughingsmiley:

Are there campgrounds with wireless? Then she could keep in touch with her 100 mph external self while you retreat to your inner self.

An air card with unlimited Internet time - $70/month

Really small laptop with two battery packs - $ 1,200

Not having to listen to all the things she thinks are important - Priceless

For everything else there's Marriott Courtyard.

Tell her it's a hike or ***!

She'll have them boots on in no time! :whistling:

Yeah, and the only hike I'd take would be to get my pack of smokes out of the tank bag.

Reminds me: Someone once asked me if I smoked after ***. I replied: "I dunno, I never looked."

Proper answer is,"Hell yes, I'm too green to burn!"

Any chance you could interest her in a little fishing? I suppose that hurting or (gasp!) killing these little creatures is taboo. If not, a lightweight spinning outfit with one of those collapsible back-pack type rods and a small box of spinners is easy to pack...and nothing like fresh brookies in bacon fat in the morning.

Some good ideas here.

For those who mentioned some rather pleasant exercise, I did mentioned we are married right? My birthday was months ago.

Of all the states I have been in NV has to be one of the worst for campgrounds. To make matters worse I live in Reno, Northwest Nevada. There are somewhere around three campgrounds with-in 150 miles of Reno, in Nevada. The closest campground is a nice little camp ground with some nice trees. The problem is it is on one heck of slope. Hard to pitch a tent and not roll down hill while sleeping. Therefore, we will be going to California to visit their campgrounds. Everything I have found with-in a three hour drive does not have electric. So, the electronic components are out.

It has to be a "campground" and not out in the middle of the sticks. If, there is not a flushing toilet she won't go.

Books are good, but costly. I swear she could win awards for speed reading. She can go though 3-5 books a day.

Bird watching is a good idea, going to see if that will fly.

Her cooking without a microwave? Scary thought.

Knitting and/or craft - This might work out well.

Board games - Anyone got suggestions? She won't play x-box or playstation with me because I win. It PISSES her off to lose. I need busy games instead of competition games. Heck, she won't play connect four with me.

Fishing - I need to look for campgrounds with fishing close. I would enjoy this.

Bi-curious friend - Where would I find one of those? FOR HER!!!! NOT ME.

What exactly does she enjoy? Request the list from her and see how many topics/activities you can relate to and play along. If there is still spark left it shouldn't be too difficult.

My wife will never sit on my feejer, so I have to enjoy the rides all by myself. Some things just can't be changed, ever.

She enjoys surfing the internet. She plays flash based games, watches videos on YouTube, and keeps up on news events. Yep, that is it, that is what she does most of her free time. However, with most campgrounds around us not having power it limits the use of the laptop for long periods of time.

I am sure you already know about it but I found a campground at the Rye Patch Recreation area this summer that was pretty nice. showers, flushing toilets, trees, river, etc. also a big *** swimming/ boating lake. Good for people watching.

It is in the middle of the desert though. 120 miles east of reno could be a good starter trip.

Got any pics?

I have had one other person tell me about it and they were not impressed. However, I might need to make a ride out there and check it out.
