I will need new tires before the summer is over. I have checked various web sites and the best price I found on Michelin PR4 (120/70 F & 190/55 R) is $343 for set, free shipping. That was MotorCycleSuperstore.com Has anyone seen better price? Have you noticed any trend on when tires go on sale? I would guess during the winter. Thanks.

Check Jake Wilson, they have had several rebate programs this spring/summer and had good prices to start from.

Same price for PR4s in size you posted but currently running about $268 for a set of Z8 Metzelers with free shipping; Metzeler rebate is $50.

I'm going with the Metzeler RoadTec Z08s this time based on MCN's review that was linked in some other NEPRT tire thread. They were a good bit less expensive than PR4-GTs, and I'm still experimenting. They might have been even less expensive on Sportbike Track Gear.

Me? I'm using the heavy version if they make 'em. There's a reason they make 'em .......

I ordered a couple of sets of those yesterday. I couldn't find GTs, but the load rating is the same, so I'll try a set on the FJR.

Most of the big manufacturers have a rebate running right now

Pirelli $40

Dunlop $50

Bridgestone $50

Metzler $50

Continental $40

Jake Wilson usually has the best prices.

I finally settled on a set of Bridgestone T30GT front and 190/55-17 rear. I would have liked to gone with the PR4 rear, but it was nearly as much alone as the complete set of T30 after the $50 rebate through Jake Wilson. Even if it got a few extra miles, it's hard to justify the higher cost. 194.87 after rebate with the upsized rear tire, delivered.

120/70ZR-17 (58W) Bridgestone Battlax Sport Touring T30-GT Front Motorcycle Tire $94.88 USD

190/55ZR-17 (75W) Bridgestone Battlax Sport Touring T30-GT Rear Motorcycle Tire $149.99 USD

Less Rebate -$50.00

Total $194.87

I'm running the last miles out of my T30-GTs before a new NAFO set. Got a little over 9,000 miles on them at the moment, and have been happy with them. Took them spiritedly through Cherohala and north Georgia over Memorial Day weekend, and they worked fine in the curves and through a few hours of drizzle even after all that wear.

Loved the PR4s, but are they really worth the extra money? That money could buy a lot of gas and a hotel room.

After spending the weekend in WV, I can't wait to get the factory 023's off of my bike.

I just bought a set of Pirelli Angel GT's A-Spec (At least on the rear tire) for $302 shipped from Dennis Kirk

Joe - what's the mileage on your factory B023's? How much more before the wear bars are showing through? What's the front look like (cupping)?

Just over 3400 miles now, actually the tires don't really look bad at all. I'm having more of a traction problem, when leaned over. The 023 tires, for me, are just not very confidence inspiring. The only tires I hated more than these, were the Shinko Raven's. Never had these issues with the PR2's, or the T30 GT's (although the T30 GT's just didn't last)

FYI...the 023's did work great, off road though...ask Bob

My OEM's barely lasted to the 4K oil change, and were causing problems by that time. I've been very happy with the prices and service I've had from my PR2 and PR3's from Jake WIlson. I doubt that I'll see enough extra utility or longevity from the PR4GT's I just got from Jake to justify the additional cost, but they were cheaper than I could have found them anywhere else.

I have about 6,000 miles on the oem 023's and they are cupped. I reckon I will be able to get another 1,000 out of them at most. I have a pair of angel's waiting . I picked them up when Pirelli had the rebate going on in May

I ordered two sets of these that came in Monday evening. I expected them to be old stock, but the rears were made in the 39th and 44th weeks of 2015, and both fronts were made in the 12th week of 2016. I was pleased. $288 for two sets after rebate.
