Here are some photos from our 400 miles Sunday trip in Ancient Olympia.
The place destroyed from an earthquake about the 4th century BC..

Well this Sunday we had municipal elections to all the country and the area was open for a few hours only..I really don't know how they took the stupid decision to close the tourist areas...The tourists knew that and probably they came to the area the next day ''Monday''..

Great pictures, thanks for sharing. It's pretty amazing the skills those ancient stonemasons acquired, with the primitive tools they had available.

 
Thanks for the photos! How long was the ride from Athens - about 4-5 hours?

Your country has so many beautiful treasures, we can't wait to see more next time we're there.

I'll never forget walking through that entrance to the stadium... imagining the thousands of athletes who passed that way for a thousand years.

How small we are, how little we know.

Looking forward to your next ride report!

The ride was about 4+ hours from Athens.We decided to go from the mountains because the scenery is more beautiful.From the normal road the ride is about 3 hours.Assume you have visit this area?You mean the Ancient Olympia stadium?
