I'm surprised you don't have one in your collection. They went pretty good with the boost up. Just don't try to stop or go around a corner.I sure hope it's better than the 650 Yamaha Seca. JSNS!
Oh, my bad, that was turbo.
Never mind!
I'm betting a 650 Ninja as the base bike. Build it off a 1000 and they'll cannibalize Concours sales.
Fabulous. I had an 82 Seca Turbo, professionally painted black. (It had the free Yamaha fix to increase power. Washer welded into one exhaust exit, and an updated pressure relief valve). And you are spot on with your assessment. Twist the grip, watch the boost gauge, and get ready for the slingshot. In that way, it was like riding a two-stroke. Get caught in the wrong gear, and your buddies would leave you for dead. And yes, awful in the corners. Plus, I'm pretty sure the brake pads were oak or maple, maybe hickory. Standard procedure when coming into a corner hot was to bang a couple of downshifts and slide the back tire a little bit, since the brakes were so poor.Turn up the boost to 10 or 11 lbs and it was a lot of fun in a straight line. Not so much fun when it kicked in on a corner.
I read in another article that Concours production has been stopped. Does that mean it's being discontinued?I'm betting a 650 Ninja as the base bike. Build it off a 1000 and they'll cannibalize Concours sales.
