Announcing the first and only Superior RTE. In which we combine Superior Court, Superior Dairy, and Superior Gumbo. Held in the Most Superior town of Hanford California, which is also home to LD Riding's Superior First Couple, Tom and Rosie Sperry. RSVP to this thread if you're coming to any or all of this shin-dig.

All times approximate. Arrive whenever you like. Leave whenever you like.

1 PM: Open House at the Sperrys

Bring your swimsuit and enjoy the afternoon in the pool. The kegerator will be filled and chilled.

5 PM: Superior Gumbo

Gumbo Doctor, NAFO SS1K Routemeister, and all around Superior Guy George Zelenz (beeroux) will be preparing Chicken & Andouille Gumbo. The cost for this is $5 per plate (reduced price), and you MUST RSVP in advance if you want to eat. This sounds so good I'm going to buy two plates.

Update: GZ had a last minute conflict and he cannot be there in person. But his gumbo will still be there.

7 PM: Superior Court

Come help me celebrate the completion of my California Courthouse photo series. We'll ride to the Historic Kings County Superior Courthouse in downtown Hanford and take my 58th courthouse photo.

7:30 PM: Superior Dairy

This is the ice cream stand known worldwide for their delicious milkshakes and other confections. Did the Sperrys' frequent stops here contribute to the failure of their BMW's final drive? Find out for yourself.

325 N Douty St

Hanford, CA 93230

Literally across the street from the courthouse.

8:30 PM: The Superior RTE continues back at the house.

Bring your own cigars and single malt. Tom's got the poker chips. You are also invited to spend the night, just bring your sleeping bag or favorite Iron Butt Motel sleeping pad. If you want a real bed, Tom and Rosie recommend the Sequoia Inn (559) 582-0338 (Tom's family's favorite when they come to town) or Comfort Inn (559) 584-9300.

I'm good for kegerator and gumbo, but don't want to be ridin' anywhere after that....

Maybe a schedule adjustment?

We talked about this while planning it. The other way it would have been ice cream before gumbo, and that wasn't a good thing either. I suggest moderating the brewski until after the ride. Either that or just skip the photo. No skin off my nose.

Hey, what's the best way to get this publicized to the California sub-forum? I'm thinking some guys like dcarver and the Sac folks might be interested, but they don't read the Iron Butt section.

Most of us notice all the new posts.

I'm not sure yet?

But "this" is a "Bridge, Not too far!" starring William Holden

Is it too late to add a couple more small eaters, for a total of 4? We'll have The Diva, and she usually has a friend stay over every weekend night....
