a guy at work has a 1999 model and it looks so cool.

He might be wanting to sell it so I need to know of any issues with this model from previous/current owners.

I have had the following Suzukis: GS-750, GS-850 and Katana 1100 and they have all been good bikes.

Comments?

I had a 97'. Never had a problem with it (until some :******: turned left in front of me :angry2: ).

One of the best bikes I've had. I did more than one 1,000 mile day on it with soft bags and the stock seat.

Pretty quick and good handling.

You could ask 'Cooter' from STN or TWT (the link in my sig) that's what he used to ride prior to the Connie he has now.

They are mighty fine bikes.

The RF900 was a good bike but didn't sell well because it was competing against the ZX-9R and CBR900R and it wasn't the hardcore sport bike that they were. I might have have bought one to use as a sport tourer except that is had a serious shortage of leg room -- at least for me. I was much more comforable on the ZX-9R.

A buddy of mine still has a late-90's one (not sure of the exact year). Good bike, from what I remember.

Hey concerning the Rf 900 I actually bought one last week from a co-worker 1996 purple and yellow.it reminds me of an eighties looking sport bike with the graphics kinda fugly but its growing on me.

the bike handles pretty good, feels very planted in twisties.the motor has some vibes around 5000rpms.

bike is very user friendly thru its power range,it seems to pull forever. Im used to the fjr at 6500 rpms,it starts to really come alive, the rf doesnt have that power burst.the peg height really takes some getting used to very high.RF has 18,000 miles on the clock and doesnt skip a beat. if price is right go for it!!

I own a 2003 (slower silver :angry2: ) with no glove box or helmet locks.funny my 1996 RF900 has both :glare:

oh yea good luck on insurance, every company I called wanted more per year to insure the RF than the FJR.
