OK folks, the moment you've all been waiting for. SWFOG will be taking place September 28th through October 1st in Payson Arizona. Mark your calendars kiddies, there will be some good times had in the Arizona high country!

I'm about this close --><--- from announcing the hotel, but I want to get the contract signed before I do that. I will say that the hotel has plenty of amenities for us to use and is giving us a pretty good rate on the rooms.

Tjfjr has taken on the task of putting together a web presence for SWFOG, and has put together swfog.com for us to post all of our information on. Right now, it's still in the updating phases, but we hope to have it updated with the hotel and registration information soon.

Kindofblue is working on contacting last years sponsors and I'm working on trying to get a few new ones as well. Between the two of us, we should have some pretty kick ass prizes to give away as part of this.

Yes, it's true. Gary McCoy of University Motors in Fargo ND and Stan of Bobby J's Yamaha in Albuquerque have donated goodies. But keep in mind this is a raffle for charity. If you want to buy a lot of raffle tickets and get a tax deduction to boot, make the check out to Moderation Management to buy your tickets!

Aye hate to ask but what's happened to this thread? Any further info?

Hi all,

Vectervp1 who had asked to organize the SW-FOG for 2006 emailed me two days ago to say that there's not going to be a SW-FOG this year. He took full responsibility for letting the FJR community down but I assume some responsibility for making the decision to let someone else whom I didn't know, take over. This will not happen again.

I will organize the SW-FOG myself for 2007. It will either be in the spring or fall because I'll be up in WA state during the summer. I'll post more here in a new thread once I've decided the season and places we'll ride in NM and maybe AZ or CO.

Again my apologies.

Warmest regards,

Doc Reid

Hey Reid,

Well, that's no real shocker as there's been little to no activity regarding SWFOG 06'. Very cool that you're already taking the bull by the horns and thinking ahead for 07'. I see COG (Concours Owners Group) is having a rally in Red River and really think that would be a great home base for the 07' rally. RR is a very motorcycle friendly town and many incredible rides could base from that site. Just like for the 05' rally, I'll be more that happy to lend support. Keep in touch.........Steve

Thanks for passing on the unfortunate news Doc.

I plan to be out and about exploring the SW the last week of Sept. by my lonesome, which is ok since I usually just enjoy my own company anyway, but was looking forward to meeting a few of the gang as I did at the '05 SWFOG. Will look forward to '07

Fred, in Rio Rancho

Fred, well have spontaneous day rides before then. There's a number of FJR riders and a few others (James rides a Triumph ST) who get out fairly regularly. Send me a private email with your email address and I'll try to remember to let you know when they're happening.

I've sold my 05 and won't be picking up my 06 AE till the end of this month in Hobbs. So no riding for me till then.

Hey all, I know I am new here but I have an idea. I would like to help #1, I have never done this before (set up a meet) but learn fast. I also have an idea for 07, Torrey Utah (southernish utah) MANY bike meets happen there from Wings to Beemers and so on.

Highway 12 out of torry is rated in some rags as the #1 road for twisties. I have ridden it on my Goldwing and am chompin at the bit to go try it on my new FJR (and I will, but)

Anyway, Just tossin that out there

Thanks for the suggestion but I'm already working on dates, hotels and routes here in the mountains of NM.

Hey, I am just tryin to help the tribe. After all "Utah" is a 4 letter word and all.

I would be willing to help too, but I am not sure what I can do from here. Let me know though. I wanna go at least and meet some folks
