That makes a lot more sense.  No fires yet btw. :D

The bottom toggle switch terminal connect to your high-beam source... I connected right to the left headlight high beam circuit, myself.
What color wire would this be? There are three wires in the harness that go to the left headlight bulb.

Black

Yellow

Green
After a quick check in the owners manual, the yellow wire is the positive side of the hi beam circuit on the left headlamp.

Everything works as planned. B)

We got lights. Now for the fun part of routing of the wire loom.

Thanks to everyone who posted up for this wiring challenged owner. :D

As I understand it, there are a hundred different ways to wire aux lights up, but here is what I would like to do.
I scored a set of Hella FF50's and would like to have 3 different lighting options.

option 1: aux lights off permanently regardless of hi/low beam switch position.

option 2: aux lights on permanently(only when ignition is on), regardless of hi/low beam switch position.

option 3:aux lights only on when hi beam switch is on.

Anyone done this and have a wiring diagram that is easy to understand?

Options for durable switch?
Skyway, I plan on wiring my FF50's like you.

I know people on this thread have suggested a SPDT, switch, But will a DPDT like the one below work? I already have one.

See Part Number 02408

And does anybody know a good wiring diagram on the web to figure out what wires goes where, for a DPDT switch?

Thanks, John

my PIAA 910's are wired exactly like that.[1]

3 position switch in panel A

up = on with high beams (using a relay and a positap to the high beam wire to energize the relay)

middle = off (no matter what else is going on)

down = on as long as the ignition is on[2] (powered from a relay with the relay energized from my switched power distribution block)

[1] props to warchild for walking me through the first one of these i set up many moons (and bikes) ago.

[2] i originally did it on one bike as always on from an unswitched source but all it takes is a bump of the switch or some ****** joker messing with your bike and the battery can be drained in no time if the motor's not running.
