After my trip to the doc today me and wifey stopped at an auto parts store because I still had to put my rear SS brake line on and needed to purchase some new fluid because I left the other bottle out w/o a cap and it got rained on! Stupid me, anyway, all they had was Valvoline Synthetic DOT 3&4 brake fluid that stated it was compatible w/ regular brake fluids and exceeded dot 3&4 specs, and it is NOT DOT 5 fluid, I know waaaay better than that, usually.

The question I have is if it's as safe to use as it says. I know, if I have to ask there's my answer but it seems to be all I could find recently, (must be a run on DOT 4 for some reason).

This is the best I can do for photo, can't link to website for some reason

Hopefully some one can help me on this. Also, it's going in the rear brake reservoir and system as the front brakes and clutch have been bled and refilled w/ DOT 4 fluid.

Thanks for any help,

Ed

Yes, you shall be fine. I have been using it for the last few years on my bike, my buddies bike, his track bike, and few other bikes.

I use the same stuff, no problems in 2 FJR's. I've had both stainless and regular brake lines, and both ABS and non-ABS. I used their synthetic grease as well.

Been using the Mobil 1 synth brake fluid for several years instead of the other stuff. You'll be fine, and may better. For me, the stuff seemed to last longer. I can't say for sure, but I've been wondering if the synth stuff is less hydroscopic (or whatever that word is that means "absorbs water").

Roadmammer here, Been using valvoline synpower ( full synthetic) for several years on my r100 BMW. It has performed great. We live in La Florida where the humidity is high and regular break fluid will last only a year or so before it starts to absorb moisture and turn dark. The full synthetic is not hdroscopic and stays clear for much longer. still I replace it every couple of years imho.
