In an effort to both stimulate the WA State economy, thus ensuring job security at State Patrol, Taff is issued another performance award, this time in his cage of all things.

Yes folks another performance award admitting that I am a brainless old fart these days. Mind you, this award came just after a traumatic visit to the dentist, who kindly performed another bone draft on my jaw, after the first one went wrong.

Dont mind so much about the award but the patrol man was on a BMW bike (dont ask me why I hate these bikes so much) and his pal tagged me. Seems like they "team tag" a great deal around here so I suggested he take up wrestling as a part time job... <_< <_< <_< <_<

So, now I have 3 awards this year and I haven't even started the summer riding program yet...I never get tickets during the winter months...aHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

Ride safe, fast but (not) near the speed limit..

Taff.

Man. You need a lawyer. If you eat all those tickets the State is going to **** your ***. You need to make some of that stuff go away.

You are one nice guy!! Not only are you helping to fund the local PD, but you are also making sure the insurance companies won't need any government bail outs!! I am doing my fair share as well in my cager to the sum of about $950 for one stop. :drag:

Taff,

I know you think we all rode behind you this past weekend because of your uber skills and mad cap speed...but really we know that you sweep all the radar traps allowing us to romp care free. I think 4 is a magic number where you get invited to class. Number 5...well, you don't want to see number 5.

What the hell is worth $950??????

Sorry to hear of the string of bad luck. This is not uncommon nowdays. States and cities are stepping up enforcment to help with the empty coffers due to the current economic situation of over spending and bad government. Don't want to turn this into a political thread but just a heads up for everyone. I have family and friends who work the streets in CA and this is no joke. PM. <><

I have seen the guy , shortsleeve, 3/4 helmet ,white BMW and works 5 from everett south to near the I-90 exit. he hides a lot too and never gives a break . He nailed me once and at least 2 others I know

Thanks for all of your replies. Even though I tried to make it a light hearted thread, please take care out there.

Yep, I have had a bad year but at least I am still smiling...

Roll on summer.

FYI: I have a lawyer 24/7 because of my addiction to speed (no not the wacky stuff). :yahoo: :yahoo: :yahoo: :yahoo:

Ride safe,

Taff.

Taff, now is this another one, other than the one you told us about Sunday?????????

For all who don't know Taff, he is Welsh with the accent and fun to listen when he is wound up telling a story!

Taff take it easy out there, get that CBR out to the track for track day and unwind there.

Same one...nearly got nailed riding home from work yesterday on 5 by the same cop near South Center (on the BMW bike) who nailed me last month.

Heads up> I-5 South after the South Center area, long straight then right sweeper...hang out 1 (hides mid corner)

Hang out 2...Kent/Des Moines exit I-5 South, stater on bike on mid section of long straight.

Hang out 3> I-5 South before the 272nd Street exit where the freeway "dips down", bike cop is hidden by sign, you got nailed before you see him. He positions himself on the left hand side on the dip near the mid section.

Hang out 4> I-5 South 320th Exit, cop on the bike and Stater in cars "hide" behind sign above the 320th overpass... If they are not seen there then I have also seen them on the "on ramps" where they are not seen until you pass the ramp..

Hang out 5>Just after 320th I-5 South there is a long straight where the 278th Exit merges with HWY 18, I have seen the bike cops on the left hand side.

Hang out 6> I-5 South near the Fife area under the bridge after the weigh scales that are located near the 278th exit.

Finally, I-5 North near the 38th Street exit there is the long straight where I got nailed last week.

Take care,

Taff.

At the last Tech Meet he was talking about some tickets and he cracked me up. He has such enthusiasm when talking about getting his performance awards.

You know Taff what would be a big hit? Get a helmet cam, take a nice ride with commentary while riding, just ranting about some of your newly appointed LEO friends and your experiences with them, then post it on Youtube. lol

Carl

PS I will post more about my little "episode" later. I should have the dash cam vid soon to prove my case.

I can tell you from previous experience, that four performance awards in a year will earn you a seat in a traffic safety class, but 5 in 2 years will put you on foot. Sooooo.

Taff, doode...

buy a Harley.

or a 650 DL Suzuki

No speeding tickets on either of them..,,

Well, I have a theory. . .

Too bad about all the tickets. I share your pain. Way too many in the last couple of years. I hope your list of hot spots helps your neighbors out some. I could use a list like that for these parts, although I've managed to find most of them myself. Dammit. Best of luck out there.

Well as soon people head up the Cascade Loop later, and towards Mt. Baker via the I-5 to Highway 2 >> Highway 9 North be on the lookout for the trestle on Highway 2 crossing the Snohomish River. The hiding spots are just under the west bound bridge ( getting you headed East) and on the Lake Stevens ramp heading to the trestle west. The last spot is a curve on highway 2 before the Bickford exit, they stand on the side of the road with a Laser. It is a quite an operation with up to 3 chase LEO's.

Ouch! Sorry to hear about your "award."

I think it was the same guy that got me a couple years ago while I was leisurely cruising at 82mph on southbound I5 in Federal Way on my Blackbird. I had seen the cops on the new 317th street overpass, but never hiding behind that sign on the southbound side. Yup, it was that damn BMW riding revenue agent. He was nice enough to write me for 75 to "lessen the pain". Funny thing was he never asked me to remove my helmet or mirrored sunglasses. I could have been anybody!

$200 later, the ticket was dismissed thanks to the efforts of a local ticket specializing lawyer. That would have been #3 on my record in the past year and I didn't need that pain! :dribble: I've been a good boy since then :p (or at least more selective about my transgressions). BTW, what's the ticket for doing 150mph in Montana on desolate back roads? B)
