I bought an '86 Honda Shadow 700, brand new, in 1989, for $2800. Sold it in 2002, for $3250. Not a great investment, but not bad...

I went by to see it, it was a customers bike that they were willing to sell for a commission. The guy already took the bike back because S&S told him he was asking too much.

I ask the dealer "Why does he want so much?" Dealer says, "He put a lot into the bike, and it was in good condition."

I reply "So what did he put into it? A turbo???" Dealer says, "Nah, a corbin seat and bar risers. Some people just think their bike is a gem and will never depreciate, but thats why we told him to take it back, we don't need it taking up space."

On a side note, they have a C-14. Got to sit on it and take a good look. Man that thing is WIDE!!!! I do like it much more in person than in photos. Particularly the front and rear of the bike look really good. The only things they need to fix are the bags and that rediculous can. If so, it is a nice looking bike.

Can't wait for the head to head comparisons by magazines to start coming out.
