As some of you know I have been eying the Feejer for some time now but in order to get one home I need to sell a Warrior or I'll be reminded rather quickly what it's like to live by one's self - been there done that once. Anyhow I was at the local Honda dealer who has my bike on consignment (hard to sell when it's been raining, sleeting, snowing crapola for the past couple of weeks). We can ride year round here in Texas but the winters do have their moments and we might not be able to get out for a week or two. They are trying to talk me into an even trade on a 2007 CBR 1000 RR - black with under tail kit and aftermarket hidden exhaust - LED turnsignals as part of the rear end clean-up and also up front, nice smoked screen and they will throw in a set of CoreTech side and tail bags (about $180 total and possibly some frame sliders as well - another $90). The bike lists for $12.8K with the goodies already on it ($11.5K plus). I've sat on it and was the one who put the bags on it to see what it looks like - very comfortable and the bags actually look like they go with it. It's very tempting but then I go across the highway and sit on the new FJR that came in this week - feels great - like the removable locking bags as compared to the codura ones - but they've got a ton of used bikes and can't afford to give me a top dollar trade-in (actually they don't want to add to the used market they have).

Can't figure out if I'm making a rational choice or if I just have the need to get something new - what am I going to miss with the CBR that the Feejer will give me and vice versa. I know it will depend on the type of riding I plan on doing but I've also got a Roadie that may end up on the block as well if I find one that does it all.

Like you said: depends on the type of riding you want to do. Long days in the saddle and the FJR is the ticket. Total balls to the wall knee dragging fun: CBR is the way to go. You will have different maintenance issues and the like. I love my FJR and have found it to be an extremely capable motorcycle in both realms. Have done a day on Barber Motorsports Park w/ it and was very happy with its performance.

simple solution....

trade the warrior for both -- keep the CBR1000RR as is, and farkle the crap out of the FJR.

You'll have awesome track-like fun on the RR, and awesome LD/touring on the FJR.

the fjr and cbr are 2 completely different bikes. the only way to choose is to know the kind of riding you want to (mostly) do.

Keep the Warrior, buy the CBR & the FJR............. Just think of how much more riding time you'll have when your single! :p :p :p :p :p :p :p

I can't talk you out of it. I think the Feej is one of the best all-around road bikes ever built. I chose the feej over the CBR and Cruiser I was riding at the time. I unloaded the CBR and the Cruiser is going in Springtime.

The more I think about it the more I think I should get the CBR then dump the Roadie for the Feejer. Problem is I'd be better off trading the Warrior on the FJR - started crunching #'s and it really isn't that great of a deal - over $23k into the Warrior and basically getting around $10K on a trade. Hopefully they can find a buyer who wants to part with around $13k.

Or keep the modded to the max Warrior, trade/sell the Rodie for the FJR so you can ride 2 up with the wifey, have a comfortable "sport" bike when your solo and still have a cool ass cruiser...CBR and FJR are closer cousin's than say your Warrior and FJR. JMHO...okay I'm a little biased...see sig

True but that would involve more $$ outlay upfront - trying to keep out of pocket to a minimum to keep the other half happy (and approving).
