Tampa Area ride Memorial Day. Clermont / Greenswamp

Doing a ride Monday with Rockmurf. We're going to do our Clermont / Sugarloaf Mountain loop ride which is around 200 miles or so.

When: Monday morning (Memorial Day). Kick stands up is yet to be determined

Meet Spot: Circle K Gas Station. 12850 Morris Bridge Road. Thonotosassa, FL 33592

Where: Green Swamp --> Clermont --> Sugarloaf --> San Antonio

Pace: Moderate. 5 - 10 over in the straights. Little quicker in the curves but nothing insane. We slow it down on the straights.

We do a ride about once a month and have only had 1 fellow FJR rider join us? Where are all the Tampa / Orlando area riders at? Do you guys even ride your bikes?

I think one of the problems is that we are scattered about. I live in Lakeland, DaveB in east Orlando, DaveW in Palatka, rockmurf in Bradenton, Nightshift in Dunedin. So where would be a central location to meet for a ride?

I'm just south of Tampa off I-75.

Rockmurf and I ride together about once a month and usually rotate between 3 or 4 different routes. Yesterday was a good ride.

Miles: 224

Average Moving Speed: 58 mph

Total Moving Time: 3 hrs, 41 minutes

Are there any good roads out around Lakeland? I have done a little riding south of Bartow around the mines and some of the orange groves but beyond that I don't know much over there. We do a good ride down around Myakka, Arcadia, and up towards Avon Park.

The ride this weekend "started" just north of I-4 / I-75 but could easily be adjusted to start just west of the Green Swamp.

I ride mostly in the Dade City/San Antonio/Brooksville area as well as the Clermont and Howie-in-the-Hills area. As part of my job over the last 17 years I've had to drive all over the Polk, Hardee and Highlands county area. Anywhere from Lakeland to Lake Placid and east to River Ranch. I can't think of any roads down there I like as much as the ones up to the north.
