You'll note my helmet headset cable coming out of the right side compartment. My Starcom1 is inside the net/mesh compartment on the underside of the bag's lid. I cut a slit in the wall of the main compartment so I could ruin the headset cables through the right side compartment. That lets me store the curly cable in that compartment when not in use and is a good place to loop the cables up to our helmets from, both mine and my passenger.

Also you can see what I was talking about by the lid sagging a little with the weight of the RD on top. I'll reinforce that sometime soon and that won't be an issue. I really do like having the RD up there in that Cordula bag. Makes it stealthy and still works on every thing except Lidar, which is a joke to have a detector for anyway.

Fred: I was wondering what that skinny little side pocket could possibly be used for. Now I know!

Of course since I have a Bluetooth intercom I'll have to find some other cord to stuff in there, but I'm sure I can do it.

I have a Bluetooth headset too. So when I use that the wired cord goes in that right pocket. The left side pocket has the cords to connect stuff to the SM-10 BT transmitter, but at this point I can only use the BT when I'm by myself, haven't sprung for the second headset yet

I was but did not want to limit it. I would like to see other bags as well but it looks like the Bags Connection is what I will order. Thanks to all that replied.

I have the old factory 6 pack + size bag , at hard lock it hits switches ...SO WHAT...it holds about as much as the rear factory topbox...If you need hard lock you didn't think very far ahead...

That's sort of what I used to think until I actually put a bag on that interferes with the switches. Maybe I'm doing something wrong but I find myself going to hard lock one way or the other just about every time I maneuver the bike with my feet on the ground (e.g. realigning to back out between my cage and the garage door, spinning around after parking nose-in in a stall, spinning around to back into a stall, etc.). These are not "zero-turn" machines! I'm pretty sure I could think ahead all day and I still wouldn't change that. That said, I don't think I've ever gone to hard lock under power and I hope I don't have to.

Fred,

Did you get the little bag from SW Moto and how is it attached to the mail bag.

David the link you have listed for your bag does not list the FJR as a compatible bike?? Hmmmm

Hi Jack D -
I am running the Bags-Connection "Engage" model from Twisted-Throttle. https://www.twistedthrottle.com/bags-connection-engage-evo-quick-lock-tankbag-for-sw-motech-gascap-mounting-system

No clearance issues at all. I just today installed a MV Motorrad Riser, moving the bars back about 40 MM closer to me. https://www.mv-motorrad.de/en/nocache/Yamaha+FJR+1300+2006+up+to+2013+MV+Handlebar+Adapter+Plate,nc1372828161.htm

Now I get a "bit" of interference at full lock - I'm not going to worry about it.
On the main description it lists the fjr, on the Compatible tab it does not.

The little radar detector zippered bag is just something that I had from a set of multimeter test leads of all things. The bag is held onto the top of the tank bag using a RAM "Hot plate" magnetic mount, which is screw mounted to the bags lid, with the idea that you could have the RD mounted either with or without the corduroy bag.

I like the bag for the stealth factor but it does kill any chance of a laser alert.

Does that Garmin sunvisor really help with sunglare on the GPS screen? Where did you order that from? Thanks.

EDIT: Nevermind....looks like you got the Touratech system. Is the sunshade worth getting?
GeorgiaRoller - The sun shade provides marginal protection. More of an aesthetic mod than anything else.
