I've done the TBS four times on my 05 and never had any problem getting the mercury to level out at 25 on the Motion Pro tool. This time, when I hooked it up and started the bike, the levels were all around 21. At this point I have the #3 screw turned all the way in and can only get it to 22. Should I just level the othere to 22? Or is this a sympton of another problem?

Two ideas come to mind. 1. Are the mercury levels in the carb tuner even? They are supposed to be replaced every so often, although I think it is becoming increasingly harder to find replacement mercury due to toxicity. 2. There is no level or standard for the TBS, just that all four are equal.

Also, do you have a PCIII? Has your idle adjusted?

Gunny on checking / turning up the idle speed. You might end up backing out the screws and futzing with the idle a couple times to get things set again.

Thanks for replying guys.

So G, I should turn up the idle to get #3 up to 25 on the tool, and then bring the others in line?

#3 should not be adjusted. It was set as the baseline from the factory.

+1

I turn #3 3/4 turn out from fully closed then adjust 1,2 &4 to number 3. The exact measure of mercury is unnecessary. Be sure to maintain the desired idle RPM after each adjustment.
