You have to be careful with that guy. He has the ability to rub one out while maintaining 5500+ RPM
5500+ RPM? On the bike, or the other thing??? :D

FYI- my BBG was a touch under 19hrs....
We did a SS1K in 13 hrs.
Wow, just did my first SS1K on friday and I now have a basis for comparison. Those are amazing times! I can't imagine me pushing for those kinds of times for sure.

Wow! Just got home. I'm feel like, what's Warchild's term? Ah yes....... Hammered *******. :)

Some quick thoughts.........

Thanks Doug and Brian for putting on a GREAT little rally with some most excellent routing!

Thank God for Nevada. Fun place to do little day rides. ;) I saw a LOT of Nevada in 24 hours. Too much of Tonopah!

Nevada State Troopers have sexy white man-****s! I caught a good gander of that thing even at oh, 75+.

The E.T. highway might just be my favorite stretch of *straight* asphalt on planet earth!

FJRs get really crappy fuel mileage at Nevada nominal speed. Like 20 mpg! :(

My current FJR, the Hula Girl, my second, is not as fast as the first. :( But fast enough. ;) Apparently, she also likes to burn oil at Nevada nominal. :(

Nevada and I have a lot of *interesting* history together.

Nevada rallies are not good on tires. My 3,000 mile rear Bridgestone is pretty much shot. A record low for me. :(

What a lot of fun this weekend was!

My Friend Doug,

Please do your very best to keep "My Kid" from crashing, Art Montoya and Papa Chuy DO NOT want to have to hook up my trailer to my Jeep and go rescue him up in Nevada!

Sincerely yours,

SkooterG's Dad
Senor Don,

Skooter is on his way back to AZ. His plastics and frame still look the same as when he left. The only casualty was the gas cap on his Tanji Cell. His use exceeded the design parameters and it is currently lost somewhere on a Nevada road.

De Nada,

Tu Amigo Doug
An Outstanding FJR Riding Adventure Gentlemen, Congratulations and We FJR Forumites are Very Proud of YOU Hard Riders! Bravo, Excelente, Magnifico y Estupido!!

Great weekend! Thanks to Doug and Brian and the others for putting on this ride.

I was riding the CBR 1000rr and I got to see a lot of Nevada. What a great state to ride. We had a ss1000 done in Fallon at 14 hours. Do to a series of silly mistakes, miscalculations, and a couple of wrong turns in Ely I missed the 24 hour deadline by a whopping 35 minutes! Heartbreak to say the least.

It was fun meeting such great people and very talented riders over the past few days and look forward to doing more rides.

I was already planning my next attempt at an all Nevada BBG for next month on my way home yesterday.

It was a hoot putting in just a tick over 2,000 miles in just over 36 hours on the CBR.

SkooterG, my hat is off to you....you are one impressive rider!

Thanks again,

Ted

Very nice job Doug and Brian of course now that the ride is over.... when's the next one? :)

I'm trying to collect the Nevada set- I have the SS1k and now the BBG, next.... and yes SkooterG- I shoulda done the 1800+, but didn't ;)

During this ride my SS1K time was 11h50m and BBG was 18h40m not to shabby. On the way home: Sinclair gas in Alamo running to Tonopah, my mpg was 25???? I was actually keeping the speed down in *tourist* mode, so pretty sure that was sucky gas. Alamo Station was fine for the initial ET run, more in the expected range for Mach speed.

My wife and the gals in her office were following the TLAE page and watching the loonies running around- they had fun with that :)

All -

Nevada has been the site of many historic LD events like Miles Inc., Mass Gold, Blister, and WPF. Inspired by these rides, I decided to put on the Team Lyle Alamo Express, an All-Nevada Bun Burner Gold ride. Prior to May 18, 2012, there had been only 7 All-Nevada BBGs certified.

22 people decided to apply for the ride. Some of the very best LD riders - Iron Butt Rally Finishers/ Cognoscente Group winners/Cal 24 winners/MERA/Team Strange members, etc - signed up for this event. But also, there were six participants who had only completed one certified ride. 17 riders showed up to the starting line in Alamo, Nevada, actually 18 counting me. I was hoping to add a few additional Nevada BBGs to the list. I was wrong.

We DOUBLED the names on the list! (pending the riders sending their forms to the IBA)

14 riders completed the All-Nevada BBG. Two Goldwing riders had to drop out due to rear tire issues, one rider got tired and wisely elected to be safe and drop out of the ride, and one rider finished 35 minutes after the 24 hour BBG deadline.

Of the 14 finishers, 8 successfully completed their first BBG. In addition, one pillion completed her first BBG. Congratulations to all Alamo Express players who achieved the goals that they were after.

It is interesting to note that 4 of the 14 finishers (just under 30 percent) were Darkside riders on a Goldwing, FJR 1300s and a ST1300. An FJR was first back to Rally Headquarters.

Congrats again to all TLAE riders. And the next time any of you see Greg Marbach, you should immediately go up and shake his hand. Trust me.

Thanks to Lisa Erbes for her support and for all she has done with Eddies Road. And a huge thanks to Brian Casey, our Route Master, whose work made this all possible.

Doug, Brian & All,

Thanks for an outstanding ride. In one day I got to see more of Nevada than I had in the previous 50 years of my life. Additionally, I learned a great deal about long distance rides and what it truly takes to be a successful long distance rider. I can read about this stuff forever and not learn as much as I did in a twenty-four hour BBG ride attempt. FWIW, I was out yesterday in Fresno trolling for a good deal on an FJR or maybe an ST1300. Anyway, that's enough out of me, time to ride... Cheers!
