I would like to invite any Minneapolis FJR owners to hang out in my **** Rapids garage on November 29th.

When: November 29th 2014

Where: **** Rapids, MN 554448

Time: 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM

A bit about me, before acquiring my 2010 FJR I owned a Kawasaki Concours and I was and still am a member of the Concours Owners Group (COG). A couple of times a year I host a Tech Session / Get Together at my place for the COG group, usually in the Fall or Winter since I have a heated garage. Most of the time we have a project to tackle, other times we just hang out and bench race. In the spirit of the COG motto "Join for the Bike, Stay for the People" I plan on continuing the tradition.

Tentatively, this years project list includes:

install a switched fuse block and wiring heated gear and GPS on a 2010 FJR

replacing steering head bearings on a C10 connie

replacing the exhaust header on a C-14 connie

Reprogramming CPU on a C14

Even though this session is oriented to the Connie, there will wrenching on an FJR and I hope to get to know more about what's under the hood of my FJR.

I typically throw something in the crock pot and others bring snacks so there will plenty of food. All you need to bring is your own beverage.

To let you know, there are several FJR's in the local COG group. As a matter of fact, at one of the COG rides the summer the FJR's outnumbered the Concours.

If you are interested in coming, send me a PM through the forum and I will provide my address.

I am looking forward to meeting other FJR owners and hope some of you can make it.

A little advice Brian? Just toss the word Beer in here someplace. Don't even have to highlight it, the silly bastages have a way of just knowing.

The cheap guys I know here will walk across Minnesota for a beer.
Good luck with your event.

I thought just the using words garage, wrenching, bench racing all together kinda implied there would be beer.

Beer? Did somebody say beer? I would love to make it Brian but I'll be out of town that weekend.

I'm sure others will be able to attend, have a great get together.

That zip code "Where: **** Rapids, MN 554448" looks a little funny for **** Rapids. If I'm in town I may be able to make the trek.

You're right in the Thanksgiving weekend, and north Minneapolis is just a bit out of my range that weekend. Hopin' yinz guys have a great time. Beer and leftover turkey. Perfect pairing with FJR and Concours wrenching.

(you saw what I did there?)

It's only about 900 miles not even enough for a Saddle Sore IBA ride. I am western PA native. Born and raised in Derry PA. Spent lots a time in the burgh.

Heck if it's that close, I may have to walk, as someone said BEER.

Right down the road. I go through there on the way to Ligoniere all the time. I'm in Murrysville, Westmoreland County. If you need to revisit the curves and hils of your youth, be sure to let me know you're coming.. Other plans, family obligations and fear of snow preclude this tech meet for me. The motorcycle is just not the place to be dashing through the snow singing Jingle Bells. You live in the Arctic Circle after all!

The Other Brian,

We have a couple a year with our Bryan [even when he's working and taking a **** load of college courses] that are a blast. Lots of ******** but also a world of knowledge. Tis a good thing and it sounds like yours will be the same. Well, except no snow shoving at our tech days. Enjoy!

Brian, Way to cross-pollinate the tech session! The assimilation continues!

I hope to see you there, w/ a dish to share.

I'd like to make it Brian, but that's a tough weekend to plan anything that's not "Family" related.

Won't know until the week before if I head South for the Holiday. Last Minute Planning....it's how we roll around my place.

Brian,

Sorry to say, I'll miss this one. I'll be at Lutsen Mountain carving turns on the white stuff. Got to get my legs in shape for a early Jan. trip to Jackson Hole.

The FJR is in sleep mode right now, waiting for the glaciers to leave the roads. Until then, my skis will provide the high speed left and right hand turns I need to maintain some slight mental stability. Kind of similar riding when you think about it, except its all gravity fed instead of gasoline fed.

Have a great time at the Tech session and hoist a few for me. I'll do the same. Yes, there's usually beer involved with skiing. We call it turning fluid.
