Techmount vs Legal Speeding mount

Techmount seems to have a good reputation, and this unit on the right side would be used for an 8500 X50.

BUT, the legal speeding mount might have some advantages, for instance, will the entire mount come off if you loosen that knob? If so, then it would be possible to firmly attaching the detector, and yet be able to remove it in shady neighborhoods, and during poor weather circumstances.

Anyone recommend one over the other? and why?

I have two Techmounts and would love a bit more adjustability. That second one looks the ticket, but that wee set screw on the arm would have me a bit concerned...
