Ever since I got my FJR in January and started riding a lot I've been getting a lot of elbow pain, mostly left arm. I'm guessing from the clutch. Never had it with my Harley but I've ridden the FJR ;more in four months than I rode the Harley all year.

Anyone else had this problem?

The pain will go away as soon as the new name settles down.

I kid

I kid :D

No elbow pain here.

Naproxen Sodium, twice daily, even when you don't think you need it.

The pain obviously comes from your forum name...

As soon as you can get it changed, the pain will disappear. :yahoo:

Sorry - couldn't resist. I always have some discomfort on the throttle side - but left side seems odd.

I had some of the same problems. I did the handlebar mod where you remove the outer pin on the bars, allowing you to swing the bars a bit more outward. (someone else can post the thread where the proceedure is explained)

This seemed to solve the problem for me, as the bars were causing an unnatural bend of my wrists. puting stress on the muscle/tendons that lead to the elbow.

Also, try one of those theraputic strap type & velcro elbow braces commonly used to treat tendinitis in the elbow. It keeps the tendon from distending (bulging). It helps me. They can be had at any pharmacy/Wal-Mart for about $10.

I noticed this when I first got the bike. Don't notice so much anymore.

I noticed it a little bit after 2000 miles. Not painful yet, but I realize it's there. It seems to only be in stop and go traffic for me at least. As soon as we get going after a lot fo clutch play, I feel it.

Risers and new Triple Clamp would be in order for that pain. FJR bars are at a strange angle which bother some more than others. even if you remove the pin and move the bars outward, your still going to be putting pressure on your wrists which will effect the next stabilization point (the elbow). Riser and T-clamp will take the pressure off. A 400 dollar (need to be an hands on type of individual (or know someone who is (thank you pappy!!!!))) is probably not want you wanted to hear, but it is what it is!!

Try Chiropractic (to work out knots by manipulating pressure points) and a racquet ball for hand exercises. Both have worked for me.

Would the left side "Throttle Rocker" work to rest your hand on and would you be able to still operate the clutch? The right one is very comfortable and solved the hand tingling/pain issue for me and works as a good cruise device.

Hey Greygoose:

Does the triple clamp fix work on the 04's? Where does one get those? The bike had risers when I bought it.

dutch,

I dont know if theirs a triple clamp replacement for any pre-06 model. You'll have to do a search on the topic. if there was a replacement T-clamp for the bike, i'm sure you would get the same benefits as those of us who have it on there 06-07's. I'll see what i can find and get back to you if something comes up.

I have a pain in my right elbow that I got from swinging a heavy hammer a couple of weeks ago. Funny thing, riding is one of the few things I can do where it doesn't hurt. Sucks getting old, but I refuse to let it slow me down.
