Rather than add on to an already lengthy thread I thought plaudits deserved a thread of their own. What a great day at the get together, just enough AM weather to give it a little fall taste (unless you lived at Georges convergent zone). Coffee, rolls and breakfast, great. Somehow thankyous do not seem enough, but thank you Bryan and Marissa, you folks are something special. These gettogethers with all my esteemed colleagues are two of my most enjoyable days each year. One guy let me turn his ignition switch on and off, another let me hold his light, sportsguy shook my hand (and I got all my fingers back) , got some of Nieharts pie. Poor George, his bike got a little drop or two of rain on it when Dave pulled his raincover up a bit to show someone his custom seat, only real disappointment was when Marcus showed up in a CAR with some feeble excuse about getting the dogs out. Great conversations with many folks. Beemer reamer was observed pouring water out of his helmet (or shaking it off?) as he and Colleen left in one of the worst downpours of the day. Next year folks, hope to see you all again.

Yes, very nice event and it was fun seeing everyone again. My downpour started at North Bend and lasted until Ellensburg. Confirmed that my old First Gear pants are not waterproof.

It was terrific to meet new friends and see existing friends. Thank you Steve for helping us with the fork work! You are a very good friend and kind with your time and knowledge, thank again Steve!

Lastly, Bryan and Marrisa you too know how to make people feel special and welcome. I hope all the best in all you do and life returns all the good you do. Thank you again Bryan and Marissa!

P.S thank to all that helped me and it was terrific seeing all of you again :)

Great day, good to see all y'all again!

Special thanks to Bryan and Marissa for once again [#13 or 6-1/2 years] opening up their wonderful home to the "gang".

Thanks to all who assisted me. Awesome ride home, handlebar risers were perfect, seat is the best I've ever had!
Great to hear the good news, enjoy them good friend :)

Dang, missed you all cuz I'm in New Orleans, a little over halfway in my 50-60-70 Big Ride. About 12500 miles now with about 8000 left. Sure miss the pie, probably would have had to wrestle Niehart for the last piece.

Ralph miss ya but without you being there, I got out there with a whole pie. Have enjoyed watching your ride. Be safe.

Now back to the regular program.

Forkfest 2014 was a success. . It was great to see everyone yesterday. I wanted to thank Bryan and Marissa for hosting again. Bryan, thanks for sharing your tools, knowledge and manpower and getting all the forks done yesterday. It was really great to learn about FJR forks.

Trying to figure out how many where completed. I think four sets, with two sets with complete rebuilds and two sets that were fork oil changes. Is that correct?

I certainly want to thank Matt for sharing nearly 200,000 miles of Gen 1 experience with me when removing the nose of my '03.

You missed a good time Ralph but there's always another Tech Day...a 50-60-70 Big Ride only comes once!

Ride safely and keep the rubber side down. Looking forward to hearing all about the adventure!

And my thank you as well. I have to admit that as I rode to event I was on this pretty new ES that had some accumulated road grime from my commute to the event. Risking mocking and teasing at the event I ducked off in a neighborhood a mile or so before getting to AuburnFJR's house and whipped out some Plexus and a rag.

Then I hear the rumble of some aftermarket pipes over my earbuds and an FJR had found me. Busted!

It was Bobby Blue and he was a bit lost, I knew the way, led him to the steep driveway, and don't think he got how much he busted me until the end of the event.

It was a great event. I got to pull my Gen III plastic for the first time with moral support and suggestions from a few people, I helped audiowize pull of the nose without too much of a drama (shorty Philips really help the process) on an increasingly uncommon low-mileage 2003, picked up a Givi I'd bought from Ahchiu weeks earlier to avoid shipping, helped Phil with some questions, saw the first Frankentank that actually looked good in my opinion, watched forkfest execute a blitzkrieg, finally found the light brackets I want and will fabricate (Alex's wrap-around design I can't find any more stock for), and kibitized with MCRIDER007 about the good job Yamaha has done on properly springing Gen 3 bikes.

A VERY successful tech gathering IMO. Thanks Bryan, Marissa, and fellow PNW FJR riders!
