Thank you all for coming out to this years CFO, Vicki (BlueBear) and I had a great time. Also, a big THANKS to all who donated or scrounged stuff for door prizes and thanks to Wheaton for the routes.

So, what about CFO 07? I was thinking SE Missouri in the Mark Twain National forest. And looking at the map there is a Sparta Missouri so we could keep the Sparta theme going. It's south of Springfield, and we could also ride into Arkansas as well. It's also close to Branson, MO.

We'll need some of the MO riders to scout things out for us, and we'll need more help in planning it. Devenator said he could do shirts & hats for next year but he'll need more intrest than we had this year.

So, who's up to the challange? I'll get the hotel & dinner again but more people need to step up and help. Who's in?

I agree that CFO 2006 was a rousing success...it helps to have great roads, scenery and good weather. I think the signup for CFO 2006 was hindered somewhat by the HEAT at CFO 2005, and the fact that it remained in the same area as the previous year. I love the area, and will do some weekend rides in the next year in SW WI, but some people may not like going to the same area for an annual meet as the previous year...

Therefore, Mo/AR is a great suggestion (as long as it is not in the high heat of the summer). There will be rides in that area in the next few weeks, the Hooterville 400, and the ride organized by the Texas group. As mentioned before, Smitty and others in the MO/AR area would be good people to look for guidance. Maybe some from the Texas group would have some good ideas and suggestions...

Another issue of coordination will always be, how much hotel space will we need. We did well this year - the hotel was great, however until late August it only looked like about 20 riders were going to show up, when there ended up being much more...

Also, the timing should not conflict with the "2007 National FJR Meet"...if there IS one as rumored to happen (possibly in CO)...if they are scheduled too close together, many will not come. Therefore, I would suggest another early fall meeting time.

And last, as a footnote, you might get more "hits" on this thread if the the TOP line of the title includes the words "CFO 2007 ??" (You could ask one the admins to change it if you like...)

Cheers, and thanks again Pete for your service this year! :clapping: :clapping:

I also think it would be nice to move it around. WFO has been doing that with good success. Wisconsin is great and I can see us having it their down the road again. But seeing some different country is fun. Also probably have some different faces as it might be close to different people.

I think wheatin was going to do some talking with smitty as mentioned. Well see what becomes of it.

Otherwise I also would like to that grnarrowe and blue bear and others. I truely was fun. I suppose well see everybody next year in MO.

I'll pretty much echo what others have said. SW Wisconsin is a great place to ride, the third weekend in September seems like a good time, but mixing up the location isn't a bad thing, either. There are fabulous roads to be had in Southern Missouri and Arkansas.

Thanks again, grnarrowe et al, and see you next year!
