I'm new on the board and from time to time you will hear me mention the little black cloud that follows me around. It's still here!

My 06 FJR1300A was supposed to arrive in August. I got a call today, from the dealer, that it was in now. Great news, right? Wrong. I leave on vacation tomorrow morning until the 20th. Then, I have to go directly back to work for a week. Just my luck!

Oh well, I'm going to look at it as a half full glass of lemonade because I'm getting my bike ahead of schedule. Boy, I'm really going to enjoy this trip; NOT! :madsmiley:

Could always be worse.....like your bike arrived but the crate fell over....& their waiting for new bodywork....or the bike has arrived & your suffering from a broken....arm,...leg,....foot,...hand,....so see it could be worse....just be glad it's in & enjoy it the frist chance you get...... :D :yahoo: :D ....

You are neither half full - nor half empty.

What you are is nucking futs. You are getting a new fjr today and going on vacation tomorrow. What the hell? Obviously you need to learn to prioritize better.

Say it with me here:

New Bike

Vacation

Go for a freeking Ride

Now bad news would have been to get the bike 1 day AFTER your vacation.

If it was me I'd fill up that half a glass of lemonade with some cranberry juice, vodka and ice. Then I would enjoy the sea breeze vacation. Like Mike says "Could always be worse".

MSC-

I'll be happy to pick it up and make sure it gets the Moto-man break in on the way home. I'll even check the cornering clearance for you to make sure its correct! Would'nt want to scuff a bag with a defective bike would we? And to make sure it is safe I'll put it in my garage. Ah, the internet is full of generous people.

I was going to offer too break it in for ya too but "FJRFencer" is much closer to you.

I fail to understand why your vacation isn't changing into a moto-vacation since your other half just got a new ST. What could be better?

Where to begin...

Vacation is at Lake Lanier in North Central Georgia. The Dealer is in Northwest Tennessee. Have to haul a camper and boat to Lake Lanier. Wife wants to go on the vacation and we are meeting friends at the campground. Oh yeah, Mom & Dad (in their 70's) are going to come over because they retired close to Lake Lanier. I live in the Birmingham area. Got the call that the bike was in too late today to make a 6 hour trip to Tenn. I have to suck it up and get the bike when I get back.

Thanks to all of you selfless people that offered to pick up and break in my bike. STAY THE F*%$ AWAY FROM MY BIKE! I wanna do it. But thanks anyway. Sometimes my tourette's syndrome catches me unaware BASTARD"S!

See ya next week. Fuckin' black cloud...

I have a worse story that that. A year and 5 days ago I was riding my 1977 BMW R100RS home...this one:

I sure loved that bike. However, my wife knew I wanted an FJR big time, and when I rolled up to the driveway and opened the door, she was sitting on this,

and revving the engine for me...complete surprise! Imagine having to live with that! Oh...I guess that's not as bad as your story

As a working stiff I don't see how you could call a vacation 'A Little Black Cloud'. I was a waiter so I know the tension waiting causes. You will have many happy miles. Now go pound water. TJ :yahoo:

B) That ain't a Sea Breeze.

Sea Breeze = Vodka, GRAPEFRUIT Juice, Cranerry Juice. Whatever, yours doesn't bad either, I'll have both!

We all have stories. My '04 was supposed to be here before my vacation. No such luck! I rode through CA on vacation knowing my FJR was on a truck....somewhere. It finally arrived 2 weeks after the 2,000 mile vacation ride on my Concours.

Remember and repeat this mantra:

It will be worth the wait. It will be worth the wait. It will be worth the wait.

OK then

It will be worth the wait. It will be worth the wait. It will ---------------- :) I feel better already!

You know, all this time I was wondering why so many waiters buy FJRs. I can understand that all sorts of careers are represented by the FJR owners, but there are a huge number of people that are waiters that quickly swap jobs as soon as they get their FJR.

Is the FJR the key to career advancement?
