I know it's really late to reply, but I did go to this...sort of.
I live near Full Boar. Driving by after breakfast I could tell something was going on there and I was in the mood to ride with other bikes. We asked somebody when it started and ran to ToysRUs to get a couple of toys. We got to Full Boar and waited, and waited, and waited, while everyone checked out each others' bikes. We had coffee, we shopped the botique, we sat on some bikes, we looked at some of the more interesting bikes...
Finally we left for Fort Worth in a ginormous slow moving police escorted group. Particularly amusing was hearing the Harleys wind up when we hit 121, I couldn't hear the FJR at all but managed to keep up. It is most likely the largest group I've ever ridden with.
30 minutes later we were in Fort Worth in an ocean of cruisers stretching several city blocks. Again with the checking out all of the bikes. I don't remember how long we were going to do that but it was way too long to seem fun. I had the impression the FJR was trapped within the squeezed in Harleys so we had some pretty good Mexican food while we were there. Lots of people were drinking and the ride to Arlington sounded less and less appealing. We went back to the bike and we decided that I could liberate it and I did so. We were back in HEB within about 10 minutes (including stopping to check on a couple of cruisers broken down on 121 to see if they were OK)
I don't want to sound like the impatient sort, I mean, to each his own, right? Even if everybody's "own" seems to be the same "own". This just isn't what I enjoy about riding, although I do enjoy a challenging/well-planned poker run occasionally.
OK, OK...maybe I was somewhat of a wet blanket.
I ended up giving the toys to my folks to give to their church.
