June 10th thru the 13th in SW Wisconsin is all I can tell you now, if all goes well there will be more details early this week.
Update 11/25/09
I know it been more than a week but here's the latest skinny.
We’ll be going back to our roots, the same hotel that the very first CFO was held at in 2005 The Days Hotel and Conference Center on French Island just outside of La Crosse Wisconsin. https://www.daysinnlacrosse.com/home
Smack dab in the middle of the Mighty Mississippi River.
The folks at the Days Hotel have given us a great room rate of $64 per night plus tax, the normal weekend rate for June is $99. We’ve got a block of 40 rooms set aside for us. When you make your reservations just mention your with the “CFO gathering” and you’ll get the special FJR room rate. To get this rate you must make your reservation by May 10th, one month prior. I know this means folks like Wheaton and Smitty will have to plan way farther in advance than they’re use to but hey it’s $64 bucks a night!
The hotel has all the normal stuff wireless internet, pool, hot tub, restaurant and lounge. They are in the process of building an outdoor patio bar that I’m sure will come in handy. :drinks: They will have an area of the parking lot reserved for CFO attendees and all of our rooms will be in the same area as the parking. There’s a $3.99 breakfast buffet for guests in the restaurant.
A couple of interesting facts, there is a Boss Hoss rally the weekend after us and the hotel expects several of the V8 powered beasts to be there as early as the 10th. Can you say Boss Hoss - FJR smack down. Well if you think that’s a good idea you better head to the other side of town because the Police station is literally within 200 feet of our CFO parking area. Good for security not so good for late night alcohol induced burn out contests and other acts of hooliganism.
There are still lot of details to work out and a web site with registration to be assembled. How much you might ask will this cost?? Last year was $35, don’t plan on spending that much this year. Can you say bang for the buck?? :fans:
