A shy retiring flower in a Thug's exterior
Hi Gang
Well today I had a bit of time up my sleeve and the fact that I received my latest farkle…Blue parking LED’s I decided to install them. I had some cheapie blue mini rubber caps on the original T10 bulbs but they looked a bit pale so without further ado I removed panels ABC & D which, I am getting quite good at now, and proceeded to install these flash blue LED’s.
Well my hands are not what you would call small…so as I worked to remove the right bulb housing from the light assembly with a minimum of fuss I removed the original T10 bulb and replaced it with the new LED. As I was reinstalling the bulb housing into the light assembly the ******* bulb fell off down behind the battery! YAHOOO!
So after gathering my thoughts I decided to let the little ****** sit there until A: the bugger fell out of the lower fairing anyway or B: when I had the need to pull my battery out.
I then used the second bulb to finish the install making sure the ******* was in as tight as it would go. I turned on the ignition to test and all ok. Luckily I purchased two packs of these bulbs…It’s almost as if I was unconsciously expecting trouble?
Now we move onto the left side of the bike (as one would ride it) to replace same. There is a little bit more room on this side as the Magnum Blasters harness and accessories made the other side harder to work in with the fuse and relay in the way. So I install the new LED and as I am placing it into the light assembly the little prick decided he wanted to be different and fell off INTO yes INTO the left light assembly!!! Oh **** me etc….
I decided to get my trusty telescopic metal item retrieval tool (and yes ****** it by bending it into a hook shape so I could get in and around the bloody light lens) to pick up the LED which is now resting precariously in a little grove at the bottom of said light assembly. After a little readjustment of the tool, I finally had it floating on the end of the magnet and just as the bulb started to pass through the little hole the ******* fell off into the light assembly AGAIN!
There was no way out I had to remove the main light bulb and try and retrieve it through there as the orifice was much bigger. I did this and after some nerve racking moments the **** of a thing came out!!!
So after replacing everything and sealing, screwing and clipping everything back up I am now just hoping the little turds won’t fall out while in transit!
And yes they do look good which, I suppose is the most important thing.
