EEK! I’m a slacker! Time to wrap this up.
This leg of our journey was the ride home.
We rode 550 miles back to Casa de BikerGeek. The first 300 miles took us 9 hours! Back roads, followed by a blast on the slab to get home.
Lots ‘O pics…
We hit the road around 7:00 Monday morning. It was kinda chilly and foggy. We didn’t really get a good pic of the fog, but there was a bit where I was extremely cautious – I was worried about forest rats. We escaped unscathed.
Who’da thunk there are family centers for Mooses?? <Nyuk nyuk nyuk…>
After a bit I got a chill going and decided to add a layer of fleece.
Fog in the hills.
Church on the road.
These guys seemed to follow us all day. Once the fog burned off, of course…
We hopped off the bike at a Mickey D’s for a cup of coffee. A dude from Ontario pulled in on his Ducati sport-tourer. I had to check it out. While no FJR, it looked like a sweet ride! Cool dude, too.
Back on the road.
We took a quick detour through a national forest.
Dr. Zumo said we’re heading North on South Ave. Uhhh…. OK.
Zippo factory! Cool! I’ve accumulated more dang Zippos over the years that I rarely use.
Where are we again? Oh, yeah!
When we made it to the Ranger Station to pay our hard-earned dollars to enter the park, this sign was posted.
BEARS?!
WTF?!?!?
BEARS!!!
Don’t feed Da Bears.
The road through the park wasn’t exactly in excellent condition, but that just slowed me down so we could enjoy the scenery.
I’m not sure what the little green A-frame structure thingy is, but they were in the park. Some kind of camping thingamajob, perhaps?
This building was as we were leaving the park. Kinda cool.
Riding along this body of water.
WOO-HOO A SWEEPER!!!
We had been on the bike for a while and it was time to get out of the saddle for a few, and we wound up here.
Ah! This is where we stopped.
Heading out…
“Heart’s Content.” We found this amusing.
Water-crossing, FJR-style.
More to come soon…
