'64 was a very good year.

My dad had a '47 HD (Springer front, suicide shift, studded leather bags) and a Triumph Cub.

I rode a Parilla 250 Scrambler.

Many great times of riding along the American River in California. Clay bowls with sand bottoms, hundreds of trails through what is now the American River Parkway (bicycle paths, no motorized vehicles).

Alas...technology and production from Japan made our bikes dinosaurs in a matter of years. Dad's been gone for years and would be amazed at my KLR and my FJR.

But that doesn't dim my memories of the joy we shared. I hope many of you have those vignettes to glance at your past with fondness and admiration.
