The Suspense is Over

The suspense is over...I dropped my new bike in the garage and scratched it. (note to self, "triple check that damn side stand and as soon as it's set, jump off and engage the center stand!") And, get this, Murphy's Law prevails-the very sliders that were to protect the new bike were on the workbench waiting to be installed! Oh well, a little elbow grease or maybe some touch-up paint and all's well.

No more suspense, no more anticipation, just get on and RIDE!

not sure how everyone drops the fjr off the side stand, seen it a few times on the "other" forum as well.

when i park mine i always leave it in first gear, kill the engine, roll it forward til it hits compression, kick the side stand down and get off the bike. the bike can not go forward, and is handy for parking anywhere if u are on a slight down hill, have parked all my bikes in the same way for 40 plus years and have never had one come off the side stand. i sure as hell hope these are not what we call in kiwi land "famous last words"

Good attitude! Now that you've got dropping-the-bike out of the way, you can get on and ride. I dropped my FJR during an ill-fated u-turn, within a couple of months of getting the bike. Much heartbreak and soul searching! When I got my latest bike, a G650GS, I dropped it during the first week, with under 200 miles on the clock. (OK, so there was a dirt berm and a dare/challenge involved).

The bike is officially baptized. Go out and enjoy it!
