Two thoughts:

1). I tell new riders that their best chance to survive is to remember that cagers are stupid and motorcycles are invisible.

2). I don't tell them that the jacket pocket where they keep their cell phone for quick access is properly termed a pistol pocket for good reason.

Just sayin'.......

 
Not to be flip, but maybe if it's an every-day occurrence this is a good thing - training exercises every day. If it were once a year, complacency (on your part) might set in.

With all the cage-bashing, it might be worth mentioning that bikers can do it to themselves. I know a guy who finally woke up and quit bike commuting because he was crashing due to his own poor judgement. He once had such a crash on I-405 near Bellevue, WA that got him 1) on the evening news as the cause of this big traffic backup and 2) in the hospital overnight.
