I'm here at the start of the Cal 24. My seat of the pants impression is that there are more FJRs than BMWs here. This is the first time I've seen this. In the past BMW was always the most popular marque in LD rallies.

I think 3 out of 72 at the MM1K were FJR's.

Must be a left coast thing Jerry :)

There were 1.5 FD failures though.

Jerry...Publicly wishing you the very best of luck during the Cal. I am dying to be there, but a nephew's wedding took priority. Any other Yamaha's on the line? FZ6 or ole FJ1200s? We're always comparing the number of FJRs to BMWs and it should be pointed out that we're comparing a model to a marque. Model to model would be FJRs to RTs or GTs or GSs. As to ChrisW's point, I'd suggest that out here in the west we have a lot more open space to use the horsepower of the FJR. Handling might be more valued in the east.
