RENE CORMIER: THE UNIVERSITY OF GRAVEL ROADS PRESENTATION
JANUARY 26, 2013

Where: South Sound BMW Motorcycles
3605 20th St E
Fife, WA 98424
When: Saturday, January 26 - 6:15pm-9:30pm

Rene Cormier is that guy we all wish we had the time and conviction to be - he sold as many worldly possessions as he could and took off on his motorbike for, well, as long as he could. He'll be here in the store to give a slideshow presentation and talk about his adventures, and he'll even have the BMW he rode on here with him. This is a once in a lifetime chance to meet an incredible rider and an inspiration to us all. $12 per person, prepaid ticket purchased through our Parts Department required. Doors at 6:15, show starts at 7.

I wished I could make it. Had a long drive today to Ellensburg for a PGR BoD meeting which took longer than I had anticipated. Now I'm flat like a tire...... Enjoy it fellas!

The peeps in the Northeast will be thankful that FredW can't afford to get there after buying new gear recently.............

Looking through the events calendar, South Sound is having their Spring Parts Swap on February 23rd. Always good deals to be had on stuff we don't need.
Any interest in crashing the kool-aid party with FJRs again?

Since I wasn't able to enjoy the presentation from Rene Cormier, I was at least able to fetch me a book from him. Got it of eBay for half the retail price of 40 greenbacks, so 20 and free shipping sealed the deal. His writing reads easy and I can't wait to eat that book alive!!

I think my literature teacher will now turn over in his grave to hear me making that statement, I eat a book (to the contrary in HS I despised that chapter.. just to learn that life throws you some times some awesome curve balls!) making all the chapters I hated, Literature, English? for the sake of the argument; German as my "mother" tongue included!, Math and Physics the tools of which I today make a living off...

I Plan to write a review about it as I read along!! If one wants to borrow it, hit me up and I'll see how to accommodate that. Bad part to this book so far, it's only available in paper copy, which ain't bad, much more inconvenient when you've got used to iBooks on your iPad, but it ain't available as a eBook, so one has to go back to the good ol' fashioned way of reading a soft cover book. Next, it's printed in letter sized pages with landscape orientation, which makes it a tad uncomfortable to just carry it around.....

Later..
