What a great read, and fun seeing the Vincent and McQueen bikes. It seems most of the bikes we heard on the clips have very tall gearing.

You leaving 002 in Cal? What an adventure Dave, and getting watch the Vincent! Way cool.
Bringing her home tomorrow for a while. Matter of fact, will be unloading at Yakima tomorrow around 2-3 and riding back via 410. Holler if you want to join up.

Swing by the house if you get a chance on the way. I assume you going over 410

Where in Yakama will you be unloading?

Actually, may unload in Prosser, as I need to stop by the Yammie dealer and grab some filters. If in Yakima, it will be at the I82/Hwy 12 exit, either way. Come down and play!

Are you going to Yamaha in Prosser or Yakama?

Great View on Chinook Pass

Quote: "Overall, the bike feels like bikes used to feel in that it doesn't do anything spectacularly but is a lot of fun to ride and it benefits from modern components, reliability and a heap of cool."

That's about right, though cruising up Chinook Pass gave me renewed respect for the Bonnie. It's got just enough torque to push hard, but not enough to get into trouble. The McQueen Racing mods would quickly solve any deficits. I might have to take the Bonnie down to Cali for an upgrade...

Might??? You know you will :p

That bike is really cool. Sounds cool too

So I've been playing with the idea of adding a side car to the Bonneville. The mounts are easily removed if I want to turn the bike back to stock, and the benefit would be I could take my son(s) with me on more rides locally.

Downside is that the handling is pretty much a wash, and I'd need to get a sidecar endorsement. But I'd probably ride the bike a lot more - only have 2.5k miles on it so far.

Be curious about your impressions and experiences with sidecars.

Here are a few options:

#1 I see suspension.

#2 I don't. Don't mean there isn't.

I rode a old Knucklehead that had a hack one way and sat in the hack on the way back. I like the driven part better.

On #2 they tried a torsion setup, but he's since gone back to #1 given the ease and lower cost of a using a shock setup.

Like the bullet, to me it fits the bike better, More retro style streamlined.

Can you fit the headlight in the nose of the sidecar?
