Fred W, mi buen amigo: Give some serious thought on riding to Real next April. Road up to Catorce is suited for a Pegaso!
Looking at MapQuest.com you've about the same miles and driving time from New Hampshire to TX as we do from Phoenix.

Ha, ha... I'd love to ride along on your adventure but I think your mileage estimates are off a little. It's more than a 2000 mile trip from New Hampshire to South Texas. 2000 miles from Phoenix and you'd be in San Salvador. ;)

Seriously, with the price of petrol these days, I can't imagine trailering 4000 miles round trip for any dual sport trips are in my future. But thanks for asking.

https://www.mapquest.com/maps?1c=Phoenix&am...Allen&2s=TX Wowser, you are right about the mileage from New Hampshire to McAllen, Texas; and the mileage from Phoenix to McAllen; McAllen being where we cross the USA border.

For some reason I thought it was a 2,000 mile slog for us; but, MapQuest says only 17 hours and 54 minutes; 1227.82 miles.

And I was equally shocked to see that it's 2,220 miles from Concord to McAllen; I mistakenly thought you were much closer!

Beemerdons, thanks for the test ride offer! Very generous of you. I do have a dealer here that will let me test ride, as he let me test the FJR and I paid him cash when I got back to their barn! He likey me!

If I could get one around here to test before they get theirs in it sure would be nice. A guy at work has one, but even through multiple bike chats and knowing I am in the market (and I am a longtime rider) he hasn't mentioned trying his out, and I won't ask. Bad form.

Thanks again guys for all the testimonials, and honest differing opinions. Obviously this bike isn't for everyone, and that's normal.
