I know...I should have searched first.

Any clue out there as to why portions of the road are paved and others aren't? Not that it made any difference to the driver. I think he spent most of his time in the dirt on paved sections.

This video really appealed to that portion of my brain that didn't mature in those formative years when risk/reward was developing. Which came late to me, thank god! Yes, I was lucky too.

 
I rode up Pikes Peak in 1974 on a Harley with a 8 inch extended forks it was a ****** and cold at the top I think they way the ground freezes a thaws they would have a hard keeping the paving intact.
