Just curious what other college-football lovers have as their top 5. Here are mine:

1) Bama

2) Penn St

3) Florida

4) Texas Tech

5) USC

I'm thinking Texas Tech is gonna rip on Texas and Florida is gonna undo Georgia this weekend.

Sorry I'm not a Red Raider believer yet, Saturday will tell.

College football is all about personal choice, we vote our champions after all.

So throwing in my bias we have:

1) Penn State - GO JOE PA!

2) Texas - haven't found a reason not to like them yet. :)

9) LSU - a non traditional ranking to be sure. Our freshmen quarterback likes to throw the ball to the other team, the defense let's people run all over them, so they get a high ranking for congeniality. :(

10) USC - beat the teams you're supposed to already.

99) Florida - because Florida is the evil empire. Well really every team from Florida is the evil empire. So is Georgia. And Auburn. It's a big list down south.

10000000000000000) BAMA - used to like this team, then they hired the coach who must not be named. :p

1. Florida- Team is on fire right now and will beat BAMA in the SECCG

2. Texas Tech

3. Alabama

4. USC

5. Texas

My VOLS are near the top 10 (crappiest teams) at 3-7, having just lost to a 26pt underdog today! errrr! At least my ticket was only $10 and it was sunny. :)

Bama could've had 2 more touchdowns were not for mistakes by the offensive players. Their offense was at about 60%. They turned the ball over.... mistakes every quarter. They went down to ****-*** land to one of their top three rivals (Tenn and Auburn come first) where the focus was on Saban returning, and, the game went into overtime. Yet they still won the game.

I know the outcome could've been different if LSU had a better quarterback. I know the score would've been different if Bama's offense showed up like they did against Georgia. So those two arguments are moot.

You guys may think Florida should be ranked higher, but at least Bama didn't lose to Ole Miss AT HOME. I'm so tired of people talking about how a 1-loss team should be playing for the national title.

Pete Caroll at USC is such a blowhard. He complains now about the BCS system but funny how he didn't complain when it worked for him a few years ago when it put his team in the big game. What a hypocrite.

Florida, USC, Penn, Oklahoma... you guys LOST already. Bama may lose in the SEC title game but we've not lost this year. So suck it up 1-loss teams and take your place behind those teams that win each game every week.

So until Bama or Texas Tech lose, they are #1 and #2. When they lose they deserve to lose their spot.

1) & 2) Bama & Texas Tech...who cares who has what spot.

3) & 4) Florida & Texas... who cares who has what spot.

I'd like to see the top SEC team play the top Big 12 team and the 2nd best SEC team play the 2nd best Big 12 team. Then I'd like to see USC play Boise.... not for the sake of who is better but just because all that blue and red and yellow would make every tv go haywire.

They went down to ****-*** land
What the hell is that?
Term designated for those originally from Louisiana. It's not racial or negative or prejudicial. My close friends from Louisiana tel me I can use it when referring to them but can't use it when referring to non-Louisiana ****-*****. Make sense now?

This past week several sports-radio shows including ESPN radio used it when referring to LSU.

Evidently you're not from Louisiana. :)

Lived for five years in Baton Rouge though. Probably has to do with the stuff they eat. It does not pay move in Louisiana; if it moves some Cajun will eat it.

In response to your original post, a very cogent argument, but Nick Saban is still the anti-christ. ;)

The worst part about it is that as at Texas fan, I have to root for Oklahoma to beat Tech in two weeks...but not by enough that they jump ahead of us in the BCS (because a 3-way tie for the Big 12 south is settled by BCS ranking)...or that if they do jump ahead of Texas, that they lose to Mizzouri in the Big 12 Championship thus sending a Texas team who didn't play in their conference championship to the national title game.

Is anyone else confused?
