Thanks Everyone!
I did a lot of research on various products then found out the MADCO is still available just not listed on website; I'm going that way again.
If not avail, I liked the:
- Excel
- Kaoko
- Throtttlemeister
WooHoo!
Thanks for contacting RevZilla! How may I help you?

FJR 1300, 2013 and 2006. Running Suzuki DL650 hand guards. Which Kaoko is best fit?

You have V-Strom OEM handguards on your '13 and '06 FJR's. Is that right?

Correct

This is the Kaoko throttle lock for a V-Strom with OEM guards:

Kaoko Throttle Lock Suzuki V-Strom 650/1000 With OEM Handguards
THE indispensable touring accessory, the Kaoko Throttle Lock may well be the highest quality, most reliable & intuitive throttle lock on the market.
However, I am concerned about fitment for two reasons.
1. Yamaha's usually have threaded and not open bar ends. I am fairly certain this is the case with the FJR1300.

2. The fitment on Kaoko throttle locks can be finicky, especially with handguards.

Yes. I'm currently run Salamander bar end weights and they have long threaded screw to secure.

Don't recall if Salamander had an insert or not that fits into the bar ID

That makes sense. If you are mechanically inclined and are OK with doing some modifications, you may be able to get the V-Strom Kaoko to fit your FJR. However, please be aware that once you install or attempt to install the part, we would be unable to take it back as a return.

Alternatively, I use this throttle lock on my '03 Concours:

Oops, wrong link.

I actually ordered Vista cruises.. one universal one specific and both don't work well on the FJR. The universal's securing bar goes across start switch. The 'specific' wasn't even close to any clean anchor point and I don't want to use ty-raps

I had to do some modification to get that lock to work on my bike. I put a small screw into the right-hand control housing to anchor the lock into place.

Yes, I considered that too and maybe the option as I need to replace cables and tube on the 06. I've been using the MADCO lock since 2006 and love it but it finally died and MADCO no longer produces it.
What's the real difference between the 2 Kaoko's?
