I swear when I put my throttle rocker on the throttle doesn't completely close as easily. I could be crazy but it sure seems this way. Even if I move it a little inward, it doesn't seem to help and there doesn't appear to be any part of the grip that's touching something it's not supposed to.

Check that the ends of the grip is not getting squeezed out and touching/rubbing on the bar ends. also lube the throttle cables and clean the throttle tube.

Here is a recent thread about the "dark side of Throttle Rockers." Not everyone agreed, but I've ditched mine forever, despite the comments about my apparently inappropriate use of the thing from some. I just found from personal experience, and then from a LOT of input from others with similar stories, that they can be a source of a problem you don't want. I do use a throttle lock (mine is a Vista Cruise) that offers some simple and temporary relief for the right hand, but hasn't caused any problems for me or that I've heard about.

Yeah, also did you buy your bike new or used? Has the throttle return spring had a wrap taken off it at the throttle bodies? This along with other suggestions like a dragging throttle barrel or cables would make for a slow return.

I use a rocker, but it is cut down to a very narrow width, and is always rotated down unless on the slab. I then move it up to become a factor.

The most dangerous item I ever attempted to use on a motorcycle, period.

It will get hung up, you forget it is there in slow speed and it will bite you in the ass for sure. Going down the slab it does help but a Heavy Throttle Miester replaced mine in less then a week. I will get cruise but I will never run with one of those potential killers ever again.

Just my opinion and I know everyone has one, but I hung mine up in a slow speed maneuver and it scared the hell out of me, once was enough.

Totally agree. Hated the thing!

Or you could do something like I did and eat your cake too but whatever...

I've put over 300,000 on my throttle rockers since 1997. Love 'em and don't often ride without one. It's all in what you get use to.

I know it is not for everybody, but I run with the Throttle Rocker all the time. Especially true before the Carpal Tunnel Release surgery but also after, I don't think my hands could take a long ride without it. Before the surgery, it was the only way I could ride longer than 15 minutes without pain.

The only "dangerous" episode I had was years ago when leaving a long day at work. Didn't recognize that someone had moved it during the day. Got on my bike (Vmax at the time) and just whacked the throttle. Daylight under the front wheel and a strong sphinctal contraction as the throttle moved much farther than I anticipated. Just added that to my "quick check" list from then on.

Of course, for a few more bucks, could get a 2013 and ditch the rocker....

So anyway, back to the original quesiton.

I just realized it's not the throttle rocker, it's the throttle cables. When I turn the bars to the left or right, the throttle won't close completely. With the wheel pointed straight ahead, I can hear it click and close completely. Any stress on the cables seems to cause the interference. Should I zip-tie them in place?
